Part 13D
Pyar Ka Dard Hai
The Taj Oberoi Maharajah Suite cont
Raman pushed open the door to the bedroom with his shoulder and carried Ishita inside.
Her arms were locked around his neck, her eyes closed, her lips slightly parted, a soft smile playing on them. She moaned softly as he rained kisses on her face, over her closed eye lids, her flushed cheeks, her nose, her chin; then bit her lips as he brushed them gently with his own, dipping his head into the nook of her neck, pressing soft moist kisses down her creamy exposed skin. His lips stopped at the obstruction caused by her blouse and she moaned in frustration and arched her back, to give him more access.
His heart was thundering as he knelt on the bed, putting her down gently and then capturing her lips with his, his hands on either side of her as he kissed her long and hard. He finally pulled away, breathless, but she pulled him towards herself again, her hands pulling at his jacket, aching to touch him and feel him. "Let me baby" he whispered, giving her a quick hard kiss before stepping back to shrug off his jacket and shoes.
There were no lights on in the room, which was lit only by the light that filtered through the silvery net curtains.
She lay bathed in the moonlight, her cheeks flushed, her lips swollen from his merciless attentions. He moved towards her with haste, desperate to make her his. She must have seen the fire in his eyes, must have sensed his desperation.
"Raman" she whispered. "I love you"
He saw again the trust and the love that shone in her eyes. He sensed the absolute faith with which she surrendered to him. And he knew that he could not do this. Not tonight, not like this. For if he made her his tonight, he would not be able to let her go away from him. He would not be able to let her out of the cocoon of his arms tonight. She deserved more than just a hasty rushed union, so much more. The depth of his passion for her had shook him to the core, but he realised that the intensity of his love, his feelings, was even greater than his physical desires. They had to be together for ever, nothing could be allowed to threaten, to derail their wedding. Not even their physical need for each other. No matter how difficult it was to stop right now.
He sat down heavily on the bed, trying to calm himself down.
"Raman" she whispered again, sitting up. "Kya hua?"
He slipped his feet back into his shoes and picked up his jacket, then leaned over and cupped her cheek briefly.
"I can't...we can't do this sweetheart. I won't ..."
"But Raman, why? I trust you, I know you won't hurt me. I want this too Raman."
" Ishita" he groaned and pulled her into his arms, nestling his face in her hair. "I want everything to be perfect for our first time. And it will be. But not tonight. You need to get home soon or your family will worry. And if we go any further, then I won't be able to let you go. I'm ...I'm desperate for you Ishita, you know that baby, but we can't let anyone find out before Tuesday, we can't risk our wedding being disrupted. I'm sorry I got carried away, I never meant for this to happen, but you are just so beautiful that I... I'm sorry. Ishita, do you understand?"
Ishita raised her face up from his chest and looked gravely at him, her lips tremulous. "Yes Raman, I understand, but I ..." She pulled away from him, suddenly self conscious of her slipping pallav and disarranged blouse. "Aap..aap jao. I need to tidy up."
He gave her another apologetic look and stood up, holding out a hand to her. "Can I help?" he asked with a smile.
"Ramann, go" Ishita clutched his hand to get up, then tried to pull her hand away from his.
"Naaraz ho mujhse?" He asked her softly, refusing to let go of her hand. {Are you angry with me?}
Ishita pulled her saree pallav closely around her. "Thodi si" she admitted, her insecurities flooding back. {A little bit}
"Don't be" he whispered, putting his head down on her shoulder. "Please"
"Raman, aap nahi jaante. I've never felt like this, I didn't know I could feel like this.. I ..." She snuggled into him, her arms wrapping fiercely around him.
"We have a lifetime of loving ahead of us Ishita" he wrapped his arms around her, softly kissing the top of her head. "And I'm going to love you like no one has ever been loved before. I promise you"
Pyar ka dard hai
Meetha meetha pyaara pyaara
Yeh hasin dard hi, do dilon ka hai sahara
Thoda thoda chain bhi hai, thodi thodi bekararee
Aur bhi ho pyar jahaan, aarzoo yeh hai hamari
Yeh milan ho dobara
Pyar ka dard hai, meetha meetha, pyaara pyaara
Mujhe mila pyar tera, tujhe meri chah mili
Naye naye sapnon ki, humme nayi raha mili
Ek armaan humaara
Pyar ka dard hai, meetha meetha, pyaara pyaara
Roz humme milke bhi, milne ki aas rahe
Roz mitte pyaas koi, aur koi pyaas rahe
Dil deewana pukaara
Pyar ka dard hai, meetha meetha, pyaara pyaara
Yeh hasin dard hi, do dilon ka hai sahara

"Bala! let's go na, it's almost 11.00. Shravu is sleeping, amma and appa are sleeping and I'm so tired too. You can watch TV at home too na"
"Ishita isn't back yet Vandu"
"Haan, toh, why are you acting worse than amma? Ishita is a big girl, aa jayegi ghar. Are you going to sit up and wait for her?"
"It's night time Vandu and Delhi isn't safe, you know that. And she's gone alone."
"But she promised na, she would leave her car and get one of her friends to drop her if it's very late. Ishu is very sensible Bala, you know that"
Bala looked at his wife in mute frustration. "I thought so too Vandu" he muttered under his breath. "But now I don't know what to think"
"Jeeju, don't stress na, I'll call akka" Mihika piped up. She picked up her phone and dialled.

Raman lounged back in the passenger seat, scowling,as Ishita drove her car down the still busy Delhi roads.
"Yaar, we should have taken my car. Yeh khatara ki toh saare springs hi tooti hai" {All the springs are broken in this wreck}
"How would I have explained it if someone had seen me coming out of your car Raman? At least I can drop you outside the gates. And stop complaining about my car."
"Oh ho madam, abhi bhi naaraz ho?" {Are you still angry?}
"No"
"Sachi?" {Truly?}
"Sachi Raman. Ab gate aa gayi, aap utar jayiye." {We are at the gates. You can get out now}
She stopped the car and glanced at him, her face softening into a smile at the expression on his face. She had been deliberately trying to be formal and standoffish with him, her emotions still raw after what they had shared in the hotel room. She knew he was right to have stopped things from going any further, but she was finding it difficult to be normal and nonchalant after the depth of sensations he had awoken in her. She could see the banked up desire and anxiety in his eyes though, and she realised he was restraining himself with difficulty, even as he hid behind his usual taunts and grumpiness.
"Aap jayiye, Raman" she repeated, her voice softening. "Aur suniye, mein weekend mein nahi mil paongi. Waise hi ghar par sab kitne suspicious hai." {Go now Raman. And listen, I won't be able to meet you in the weekend. Everyone at home is suspicious already}
"We'll find a way" he reached out a hand and brushed her cheeks gently. "Tumse saari weekend dur nahi rah sakta" {I can't keep away from you all weekend}
"Aap hi ne toh kaha tha Raman, we need to be extra careful until Tuesday." She closed her eyes for a second, savouring his caresses, then laid her left hand over his, pulling it away from her face.
"We need to be careful, yes, we can't stay out all night, lekin tumse milne bina mein nahi reh sakta. And don't forget, woh Abhi laut ke aa raha hai na Sunday ko. Kuch toh scheme sochni padegi." {I can't stay without meeting you. And don't forget, that Abhi is coming back on Sunday. We gave to think of a scheme to keep him at bay}
"Raman, I forgot to tell you, Abhi ne appa ko call kiya tha. Woh ab Tuesday afternoon ko wapas aa raha hai." {Abhi called appa, he won't be back until Tuesday now}
"Chalo theek hai" he squeezed her hand and brought it to his lips. "Tab tak toh tum meri biwi ban jaogi" {Well, that's good. You'll be my wife by then}
Ishita blushed as he kissed each knuckle, lingering over her ring "Meri biwi" he repeated between each kiss.
Ishita stared mesmerised at his lips as they lingered over her hand, her eyes straying to her ring as he showered kisses around it. Her ring!! What was she going to do about that?
"Raman, meri ring. Aap rakh lijiye na" {Raman, please keep my ring with you}
"No, you can't take it off. Ab kabhi nikalna mat isse. Ghar par keh dena, costume jewellery hai" {Just say at home that it's costume jewellery}
"But Raman..."
"No, I insist" he took off his seat belt, then leaned over and kissed her softly on her pliant lips. "Don't worry Jhansi ki Rani, I won't spoil your lipstick. Go now, and dream of me, ok? I'll call you tomorrow"
He jumped out of the car and then stood watching as she drove in through the gates.
**********************************************************************************************************
"Akka" Mihika called out as Ishita parked her car and stepped out. She had been standing with Bala in the carpark.
"Akka, we were trying to call you. Aap ne phone kyun nahi uthaya? Jeeju was so worried, we were about to drive down to the Taj."
"Sorry Miku, it was noisy, I guess I.. I didn't hear the phone ringing. Ya silent par hoga. Let's go in now. Jeeju, chalo"
"Ya, I'll just go and get Shravu and Vandu. It's late" Bala said gravely following his sisters in law inside the building. "And Ishita, listen, are you free tomorrow?"
"Yes, jeeju, why?"
"I need to talk to you. About your wedding. I'll come and pick you up for a coffee, okay. Around 3.00"
"Yes jeeju " Ishita said quietly. Bala stared at her as they climbed the stairs - he had to talk about her wedding, but wedding to who?
