I loved yesterday's episode. Felt so realistic and natural. Lovely interactions between three important characters, with Ishita being central to all of them. Ishita - Raman, Ishita - Romi and Ishita - Adi. Before I proceed to my favourite subject, but of course RKB, I would like to touch upon the other interactions :
1. Loved the way Romi went off on the flower vendor about the flowers. He so desperately wants to be a part of Rinki's wedding and he is being totally ignored and not given any importance. I recollected his dialogue from yesterday's episode, Rinki is my sister too !.
2. Was upset at the way Bhallaji shut him out. I know, Romi has created a mess that has landed members of the Iyer family into a soup, but is ostracizing him the right way to go about punishing him for his misdeeds ? Should not the Bhalla's try and find out what the reason was for Romi stealing the money ?
3. Adi seeing Romi wiping his tears, and to my surprise, of all the people to turn to, he turns to Ishita ? And the look of bewilderment and surprise on Ishita's face, when Adi turns to her ! Great move by the writers, to show the slow build-up of trust between them ...
4. Romi and Ishita conversation, once again on the bench. We have always had the most meaningful conversations of YHM on the bench... may be we should suggest to the writers to get rid of the bed in puttar's and biwi's room and replace it with a bench (of course a slight wider one). Puttar and biwi just might end up jumping each other and we might end up getting the C that the whole forum is desperately waiting for ! (wishful thinking !)
And now to my favourite RKB : I loved the way he is shown sitting at the reception, nervously toying with his glasses, waiting for Ashok to turn up, the way he jumps up when he sees Ashok and the way Ashok ignores him when he enters to office.
I know people are still unable to digest, the whole RKB working for Ashok track. But in my mind, I think this if handled well, would be one of the most important one in showing RKB's characterization. Until now, they have shown us the Ishita - Shagun face off. They could not show it in the professional arena (1) as Shagun is a lotus eater and does not have any professional qualification to compare with Ishita and (2) This is an indian soap, so they had to show who is a better mother viz., the upbringing of Ruhi v/s Adi.
Until now, all the interactions that we have seen between Ashok and Raman have been on one upmanship. Who is a the best CEO, who is the president of the entrepreneur association, who is the head of asia business guild etc etc. (but the friction between Ashok and Raman until now has been extremely personal). Have we seen Ashok and Raman in the same scenario where both of them work together, where they show how Ashok and Raman approach to the same problem ? To show that aspect, they had to put Raman and Ashok in one frame, and this is a superlative move !
I loved Raman's dignified demeanour. And the stark contract between Ashok and Raman. Notice how Raman kept looking at Ashok's feet on the table ? Even when Raman was a CEO, we have never seen him put his feet up on the table, that is the respect he has for his work.
Ashok comes from a rich family, he has been handed everything on the platter. He has not worked for the wealth that he has.. Raman has worked his way up the ladder. He knows how to interact with people, how to win not only their support but also their trust.
Ashok thinks he has Raman under his thumb, but he does not realize this is not the same Raman who worked for him 7 years ago. I remember one of the flashbacks where they showed Raman crying and begging Ashok, holding little Ruhi in his arms, please don't break my family. Ashok laughed at him that day, and Raman changed. He became this angry, bitter man who lost all trust not only in love but in humanity. Then, in walks a woman who not only changes his outlook, but also shows him the value of love and respect for all relationships. She walks in, not for him, but for his daughter, but in the process, touches his life and changes it for the better.
Raman has evolved and changed in the past 7 years and risen to dizzying heights, whereas Ashok has not changed at all. He is where Raman left him. The same arrogant, who believes I have money and I can buy the world, kind of a person, who does not value any relationship. Why else would he throw out Shagun and Adi after a 6 year long live in relationship ? He would have shown some compassion if he had evolved as a human, but he has absolutely no regrets !
No I don't feel sorry for Raman at all. Why should I ? I am infact very proud of him. He is standing all in the fact of an impossible situation. He is down, but not out at all ! Go puttar go.
I am now waiting for the sh*t to hit the fan ! RKB v 2.0 awaiting your arrival !
@Maloo, thank you so much for the shout out and putting me in the same league as Doc, Gan, Anu, Krishy. I am but a tiny speck compared to them. To tell the truth, this is the first time I have tried my hand at writing and have just written 2 to 3 analysis of the episodes and most of the times I felt as if I did not make any sense ! Thank you for reading my ramblings !
