Back with an update, ignore typos and grammatical error like always. As i write this story I realize i don't know what the hell I'm doing anymore, I want to finish this but don't know how😆 Bare with me folks...😳, I'm lacking creativity and motivation these days. I Hope there is still a story here. Do let me know how it is😊

Part 10

He looked at her, there she was sitting next him dressed in her pure mustarded colour Kanchipuram saree complementing her creamy skin tone ever so beautifully. She was elegant she had on minimal make-up and accessories , it was evident she hadn't taken much effort in getting herself ready still she was enough to take his breath away. She had to be the most beautiful bride he has ever seen, oh wait ,who was he kidding,he had never payed attention to any other brides other then his,to even claim that. He stopped a second as he realized something his thoughts just reminded him.She was his bride! She was his, and that made his heart jump.

A small lopsided smiled played his lips as he looked at her once again. He couldn't miss the frowns her eyebrows made, the few seat beads on her forehead and the fumbling of her hands. She looked nervous. He knew somewhere deep down her conscience still fought against her for this. This isn't what she wanted or maybe this isn't exactly how she wanted. She probably dreamed it big and grand, marrying a man she truly loved, wearing her exclusive designer saree and most importantly having her parents, whom she loved the most standing by her. He hated the fact this marriage couldn't give her any of that.He hated himself for not giving her any of that. He couldn't change the past, he had very little control over the current happening but he mentally vowed he was going to make her future better. Happiness is what he planned on giving her.

"Next is Raman Kumar Bhalla and Ishita Iyer" The registrar called out.

Both Ishita and Raman looked at each other, this was it. It felt surreal that they were actually here to get married. Uncertainty and fear was written on both their faces.

"Raman, they have called you." Bala's voice brought them out of their thoughts.

Letting out a sigh, they both walked in along with Bala and Vandu who were going to be their witnesses. Both the friends knew the true nature of the marriage, but they believed in destiny. It has brought Raman and Ishita this far a reason, though it might take some time , they were sure the duo would realize the meaning one day.

The procedure was nothing long. After giving their verbal consent, few papers were signed and they were man and wife, legally.

"Congratulations you are now Mr. and Mrs.Bhalla" the Registrar was the first to congratulate them. "Will you be exchanging the garlands here as well?" he inquired next.

"No sir, we are heading to the Mandir to do that" Raman replied.

Ishita looked at him confused. He hadn't mention it her, but then she hadn't asked much about the plan. She had agreed to this for him, only for him."Raman...why the Mandir?" She silently asked pulling him by his hand.

"We don't have the chance to get the blessing of our family, I thought it would be nice if we can get at least the blessing of god" he whispered to her.

A smile of contentment played her lips "That would be nice" she told him. She shook her head a little in disbelief. For something that had no real meaning or future, Raman seemed to have put more effort then needed. But she liked it ,she knew this was done for her as he never believed in traditions, rituals and religion. It made her feel assured again, that he was indeed her best bet.

"Shall we leave, others must be waiting for us." Bala broke in

"Only after you take a picture of me with the newly married couple" stated Vandu, who had been taking snaps on her mobile of the whole event.

The temple ritual was that of a simple one. A special Pooja was organized and Raman was asked to tie the Mangalasutra. Chills ran through Ishita, as she saw the most auspicious traditional piece of tread in his hand. Till now he had her convinced this marriage was just a contract for the sake of their baby's future. A temporary namesake relation. She believed she and Raman were nothing but friends, then why was she feeling ecstatic as his hand went around her neck tying the thread. She closed her eyes as he leaned in closer to secure it safely. When she felt his hot breath fanning her neck, her heart skipped a beat, her knees became weak and she consciously made a silent prayer for prosperous life ahead for both.

She sensed him stepping back, it took her few minutes to open her eyes, her vision was blurry, tears had welled her eyes, her thoughts became clouded and ironically her heart felt light. Marriage was always a serious matter to her, but she had mentally prepared her to think this one wasn't, then why was she feeling otherwise? Was she expecting this all along, is this what she wanted? Did she always had this hope, that this would happen? She couldn't say. Confusion overtook her mind.

"Ishita" His voice broke her thoughts "you okay?" He asked as he placed the sindoor on the parting of her head.

She just simply nodded as she looked at the man standing before her, who was now her husband. An unknown sensation was over powering her, but she didn't want to let it do so. She couldn't.She knew better, she shouldn't have any expectations from this relation, any from him, yet why was she feeling so completed right now. Was it because she was finally a wife of someone or was it because she was finally his wife. It was hard to say.She was too lost in thoughts to notice the rest of the happenings.

Before she knew it, they had left the temple and now was on their way out to eat. Laughter and teasing filled the mini van they all were traveling in, mostly from their colleagues who had no idea what the real deal was between the newly wedded couples. She looked at him. He looked relived, he looked satisfied. The wedding probably didn't effect him like it effected her, she figured, he wasn't bothered at all.

When he caught her staring, he smiled. She smiled back and quickly looked away. She couldn't allow anyone to know her state of thoughts, particularly him.

"I'm so happy for you Ishu " Mihika told her for nth time. Ishita smiled in response,so was she, and that scared her...
