- Eyes on You -
"What size is it?"
"Don't you know that?" He grinned and asked instead.
"Small?" She teased.
"That's not what you said last time."
"I didn't? I can't recall." A giggle escaped her lips.
"Laugh now and I'll make you pay tonight." He threatened her. "Why do you need it now by the way?"
"Because I'm getting bored and my husband is stuck in a meeting." She replied stepping on the escalators.
"He is cheating on you."
"And how would you know?"
"Insider news." He said walking towards the board room.
"Really? Then I should get even with him."
"Totally."
"Then maybe I'll buy the ring for you instead of him."
"I'm game. Its 10."
He knew it was his fault, the meeting could have been avoided and he could have accompanied her at the dinner date last night but the delegations had to leave and certainly not without discussing the clause with the project head and thus he had to stay back at office and see to his duties, which now he cursed along with himself. It wasn't the first time he had left her waiting or backed out of his commitments by she had understood until lately. The had mutually agreed to spend as much time as as they could after their work and family commitments which did not leave much option but the solitary of their room. Though they usually strolled around the building late at night, went out for coffee or to watch a late night show but lately due to other preference, they had hardly taken out time to go out when the reason to stay close and the vicinity of their room was both they had looked forward to during the day.
"Think again." He tried.
"I have made up my mind."
"Perhaps, you'd like to change it Mrs. And if you lose?"
"What if I win?"
"I'll take you shopping."
"And leave me half way through."
"I said I'm sorry, wife. Can you get past it?"
"Not when every time we have our time out you chicken out."
"I dont, okay. And you know it."
"Fine, then. Sleep alone tonight."
"It will be you asking me to reconsider before the day is over." He smirked as he walked up to her in front of the dressing table and took away the brush from her hands, kept it aside and held her waist, pulling her forward. She only glared at him and remarked, "you can try." She walked away from his embrace and the room next.
He sat beside her on the sofa after lunch and kept his arm behind her, at the head rest. The family had gathered on Sunday as per the weekend ritual, talking and catching up with each other while the kids got to play their movie, 'Frozen'.
"So what happens when she gets a true love kiss?" He asked, caressing the length of her left arm. When she looked at him inquisitively, he gestured towards the screen. "I don't know." She mumbled and tried her best to focus on the conversation she was having with her mother in law while he continued to do wonder to her sesnes with just a touch.
You can be my brown eyed beauty
And I bet you see right through me
You can do anything to me, oh oh
She decided it was best to switch her place. The decision to sit across from him turned out to be a precarious one when she stole a glance at her husband who was looking at her intently. The intense gaze moved from her eyes to her lips, stayed there for a moment longer and went back to her eyes. Oh, she knew the look. This one usually transpired in his eyes after a thorough kiss.
Got my eyes on you
And I see you checkin' me
Got my eyes on you, ooh
And I like what I see
He next quirked an eye brow, asking if something was miss to which she shook her had with those huge eyes of hers. He then picked up his specs frim the side table, put them on and took his time to move his eyes further down her lips, the gesture only sent shiver down her spine. She knew what he was up but she found it hard to avert her eyes. He was going to be the death of her. By the time she caught his gaze again, a gasp escaped her mouth when she realized he had mentally stripped her by now and the look on his face was nothing but of vicory, as if he appreciated what he saw. She heard herself groan and made her way to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Something to cool her down. So much for maintaining a distance between them to get even. With so little self control she could clearly see herself imploring him before the day ended.
"I suggest something stronger at times like these." He startled her with his remark and almost made her spill the water from the glass.
"Really? Like what?" She asked nonchalantly. She could pretend. Yes, that was not so difficult.
"Yes. Cold shower, perhaps." She kept the glass down on the counter and continued to stare at him. Was she that transparent? Okay, this was worst than difficult when he was standing this close and specially when he whispered, "with your husband would help immensely."
You're so beautiful
Tonight anything is possible
But you know I just can't get enough
Of your love, so give it up
The dinner was no easy task when he hovered over her and made every effort to touch her unnecessarily, while handling the dish or taking water from her, tapping her bare back a little longer when she had hiccup during the meal.
"What's for dessert?" He asked again, looking at her. Gauging her response, seeing her make effort to stay calm but he knew what was taking place in her mind and her body.
"Gulab jamun." His mother beamed and scurried to serve him.
"Nay, its all right maa. I think I should look for a substitute." He said looking at her."I need to control my diet." He smiled at his mother who ruffled his hair and asked him to have one which he complied.
Got my eyes on you
Won't you bring that back to me
Got my eyes on you
You know, where I'm gonna be
She was pacing back and forth when he reached their room, a playful smile made its way on his face and he asked, "can I help?"
"You did enough help as it is." She turned around to face him with daggers in her eyes. "I'm pretty sure every one noticed the number of times you touched me unnecessarily. Even neelu was looking at me with sympathy in her eyes."
"You are mistaken, it was for me. Every body pities me but my wife." He chuckled and kept his hands in his pockets.
She continued to stroll and replied, "you deserve it."
"Why are you still mad? Did you take shower?"
She hadn't noticed, he was walking beside her until she stopped to look at the wall clock. "What are you doing?" She asked him.
"I'm just walking by your side."
"You violated the rules."
"I didn't. The idea was stay away from you when we sleep and that too before you lose, keeping my hands off in public was not a part of the clause."
"Shut up."
"What are you.." His lips were next taken for a kiss, fierce at first and soft later. The next was the drill for every night. Well, almost.
Don't stop baby girl don't stop
I know you really like it
When you're on top
Don't be shy just give it up, c'mon girl
"You lost." He smirked as he moved to his side of the bed with her in his arms.
"Nope. The day was long over. I kissed you at midnight." She smiled a shy smile.
"I knew I have got a smart wife."
"Only you could turn my loss into victory."
"Well I wouldn't call it a loss. Its a win-win." He winked at her.
"That means we'll still go shopping?" She asked with hope and excitement in her tone.
"Hmm.. But I'll decide what you buy."
"That's not fair!"
The next day the first store they visited after entering the mall was 'Victoria Secrets.'
