CHAPTER II
They all had left the Bhalla house. Raman slowly gets up from his chair and walks to his room upstairs. With very step he took, there was one memory that was flashing in his mind. He remembered her laughing, her innocency when she looked at him, their cute little fights, their ruthna maana, he trying to get physically closer and she blushing, she running behind him in the kitchen, trying to snatch the 3D glasses, hugging her on the sofa, he trying to tease, everything. With every memory, a tear rolled down his cheeks. He was ruined, both mentally and emotionally. He just wanted to find Ishita somehow and then when he gets her, give her a tight hug and tell her that how much he had missed her, how much he loves her. He wanted her to hug him. He wanted to hear her sweet voice that called him "Raman Kumar". He wanted to strike her hair when he hugs her. He wanted her desperately, mentally, emotionally, physically. Her absence was killing him at that moment. He was physically working, walking up to his room, but mentally he knew nothing, he was numb, he that collapsed and it was only Ishita, her words, her face that was roaming inside his mind. He was just left with a soulless body. His anger, his love, his laughter, his every other emotion had lost its way with Ishita.
He somehow gathers all the broken pieces of his heart and enters the room. He finds Adi sitting there staring at his phone screen. Tears were rolling down his cheeks too. He was silent and as hurt as Raman.
That kid of 12 had always humiliated the people who genuinely cared for him. He trusted the people who were just using him, let that be his biological mother Shagun, or his so called dad Ashok. It was hard for him to believe that his own mother, who had carried him for 9 months inside her, bearing all the pain to get him to this earth, could actually make use of him to just be financially strong and live a lavish life. He couldn't believe how Ishita had always tried to protect him no matter what he did. That womb less soul had so much emotions filled inside her that even Shagun didn't have. He questioned himself for trusting Shagun. He loved Shagun, he couldn't bear the pain of losing his mother. After all, she was his mother.
He remembered all the incidents, from shagun's sangeet to the day when Ishita left the house. His evil activities flashed in his mind, when he burned his hand purposely and blamed Ishita for it, when Ishita went to jail because of him, when he was telling Ishita the story on step mom and indirectly questioned her motherhood, he humiliated her on the day of Lohri calling her their neighbour, when he had planned to lock Ishita in the pump house. He remembered shagun's voice that kept on brainwashing him, "dekha uss Ishita ne Kya kiya? Woh Achchi nahi hai Adi, she's not a nice women"
( did you see that Adi, What that Ishita has done. Not not nice)
Ruhi's words about Ishita was ringing in his ears, "Meri Ishima best hai Adi bhaiya"
(My Ishima's the best Adi bhaiya)
Raman comes in and sits beside him.
Adi was staring at his and shagun's pic that they had clicked last year. Raman pats him on his back, and one touch of his father made Adi hug Raman tightly. He was crying hard. Raman tried being strong on his part. He knew that Adi needed him and he behaved like a mature and responsible father.
Raman - Adiii... You're a big boy. Aise nahi rote. Tu mera strong bachcha hai nah?
(Don't cry. You're a strong boy of mine)
Adi - Dad, maine Ishita aunty ko bohot hurt kiya hai. I can't believe ki mom ne Aisa kiya. Unhone Aisa kyun kiya dad. I loved her so much.
(Dad, I've hurt Ishita aunty a lot. I can't believe that mom could do something like this. Why did she do all this. I loved her so much)
Raman - Dekh Adi! Mom loved you. She didn't want to loose you. Isliye she did all this. Abhi yeh sab chhod. I'm glad that you've realised your mistake.
Adi - but dad, how will we find Ishita?
Raman - dhoond lenge. Woh humse zyada din door nahi reh sakti.
(We'll find them. She can't stay without us for such a long time)
Adi - dad, I've a plan
Raman - what?
Adi - Ruhi!!!! Hum kal usse school mein Milenge. Use sorry bhi bolenge. Woh Hamein Ishita mumma ke paas le jayegi.
(Ruhi,!! We'll meet her at school tomorrow. We'll apologise. She'll take us to Ishita mumma.)
Raman was glad to hear the word "Ishita mumma" from Adi. He could see the positivity inside him, that he found inside Ruhi always. How he wished Ishita could hear Adi say all all. Ishita's words were ringing in his ears, "ek din Adi zaroor samjhega" (there will be a day, when will understand)
Raman gave a proud smile and said, "okay"
They both hugged each other. There was a relief inside them.
Ishita's place
Ishita was staring at their family picture. She was siting numb. Ruhi comes and hugs her and says, "everything will be fine ishima, papa will come to take us with him soon"
Ishita smiles and hugs her.
Next day
Adi gets ready for his school. He comes down to have his breakfast. Every one stares at him, some with fuming anger, and others with sympathy.
Simmi comes and puts the Parathas on his plate. She pours the chatni and leaves. Adi senses the tension in the house. He knew that it was all cause of him and Shagun. They were mad at him. He knew that family members loved him and they wouldn't say anything to him. Finally he decided to speak up.
" dekhiye, I know ki Maine bohot galat kiya hai"
(See I know that I've done it all wrong)
Every one looks at him.
He continues, "I know that you all love me a lot, that's the reason you people are not scolding me. But please don't do that. Shagun mumma had never scolded me.
That's the reason why I've turned out like this. Like Ishita mumma scolds Ruhi when she's wrong, you guys also do the same. Daantiye mujhe, mariye, but don't just keep quiet. I promise that I'll never repeat such a mistake again. And I'm not acting this time, cause I am genuinely guilty"
Every one was shocked to hear Adi utter those words. They had never seen this side of Adi. They remembered Ishita saying, "Adi bachcha hai. Use hamari saath ki zaroorat hai. Sab theek ho jayega"
(Adi's a kid, he needs us. Everything will be fine)
Toshiji - " haye mera bachcha! Inna samajhdar ho Gaya hai tu. Dil khush kar deta"
(Oh boy, you've become so understanding. You've filled my heart with joy)
Toshiji goes and hugs Adi. Every one else feels good to see the change in Adi. Raman standing on the stairs, watches the entire scenario and smiles. His eyes were moist. He tells to himself, "dekha Meri Jhansi ki rani, aaj tera beta itna samajhdar ho Gaya hai. Isi din ka wait kar rahe the na hum. Kaash tum yeha hoti"
(Did you see that I my Jhansi ki Rani? Your son has become so understanding. We were waiting for this day right? I wish you were here to see all this)
Raman comes down. Adi and Raman tell every one that they were going to meet Ruhi. Everyone gets happy to hear the plan.
School
Raman requests the principal to call Ruhi. The classes were running. He knew that if he went to meet Ruhi after school hours, Ishita wouldn't allow. The principal calls for Ruhi.
Ruhi comes. She's shocked to see Adi and Raman standing there.
Ruhi - papa aap?
(Papa you?)
Raman comes and hugs her. He apologises to her for not believing Ishita. He tells every thing that had happened the previous night. Ruhi was shocked to hear everything. She saw her dad crying. She rubbed his tears, just the way Ishita used to do.
Ruhi - don't worry papa. Aap Apna galati realise karte ho. Ishima will be happy.
(Don't worry papa, I'm glad you've realised your mistakes. Ishima will be happy)
Raman - Haan beta, but usse pehele, ishima hai kahan?
(Yeah I know my child, but before that, where's ishima?)
Ruhi - papa, ishima after school hours, mujhe pick Karne aati hai. Tab mil lo aap.
(Ishima comes to pick me up after school hours. Talk to her at that time.
Raman - nahi, I don't think ki it's the right place.
Adi - I have an idea.
They plan to meet in a mall being it a Sunday the next day. Ruhi says that she'll get Ishita to the mall saying that she wanted a new dress. Raman agrees to all this. Ruhi also tells him where they stayed.
Raman hugs Adi and Ruhi. It was such a relief for him to have his both the kids hugging him together. The only person he needed was Ishita now. And the day wasn't far when he would hug her too and Tell her how he feels about her.
PRECAP - Ruhi convices Ishita to buy her a dress.
Raman tells everyone in the house that he was going to meet Ishita the next morning. Every one's happy. They insist to come along with him. But Raman doesn't allow.
Ruhi and Ishita, and Raman and Adi comes to the mall.
Ishita sees Raman and is filled with tears in her eyes.
Raman apologises publicly.
