you are forgetting when raman was informed that ruhi is not his daughter but ashok's , he was ready to give her custody to ashok. so I don't think it s butchering of his character

It s Ishtia s fault her constant mani chant made him to think she has more importance of shani in her life than raman .

and divorce is not end of life and according to him he is freeing her from forced relationship. he has seen even shani s inclination too for her.

yes adi will not trouble ishita because she will not be his wife. it s his name joined with her that is troubling her . and shani is backbone to defend her. she does not need raman at all.

For many who seem outraged by raman's decision ...

my pov..raman thinks...and has been repeatedly made to think ...that he is the reason for all probs in his family's existence..not just JM...even toshi and Mr iyer joined the bandwagon this week. ..sasaying ramans problems are haunting ishu n ruhi.

in the last 2 tracks...he was the reason ishu got molested and humiliated. .his enemies took revenge...mihika got into a mess...again cos of shagun and ashok...Raman's past baggage...and final nail in the coffin...ruhi almost getting taken away...and the judge driving in the fact that ruhi was not getting a good environment to grow...again cos of Raman's past and his enemies wanting to use ruhi as a pawn.

The moment ishita is no longer ishita bhalla...the iyers can certainly remaain removed from all these problems. .maybe settle in chennai🥱...And shani the savior is perfect replacement for raman...

in ishu's own words he us sensitive, not short tempered, very successful and powerful. .and would take good care of ishu n ruhi. .And yes ruhi is the only one in the bhalla family who might miss raman (I m saying this from raman's pov..and what we saw during the last 2 tracks)...but then ishima can more than compensate for that na...at least she would be safer and have a more healthy upbringing...

So yes...finally raman knows maybe that ishu loves him...But like amma told him...love n relationships..that only give tears n pain...are better ended...and he knows ishu will resist..but in the long run she would be happier than she is today. ...i find nothing wrong in his thinking that way...

have we ever seen ishu gush about raman the way she for with shani..no...rather he has seen a strong woman broken and vulnerable...and he feels awful about it...

don't know why raman us not allowed emotional decisions. ..pPl seem so eager to judget him...whereas ishu couldn't even see raman's tears during shani track...and here raman is expected to be a mindreader...when he is more than justified taking this stance...
