No one deserves to be abused, but Mihika had it coming. She invited it herself by seducing Ashok. Honestly, what respectable woman seduces a man knowing he's a leech? 🤢 We cannot claim Mihika was molested, because she herself went to Ashok and offered herself to him. Her reasons may have been different, but as far as the whole world sees it, the act (if it happened) was consensual. Mihika consented to it, whatever may be the reasons, so where's the abuse/rape/molestation? A woman shouldn't consent unless she is absolutely comfortable with the act or the person. To consent to prove a man is a leech is downright dumb. Mihika behaved without any brains. She is the stupidest character in the show and has been committing mistakes from the start of this track, so I honestly have zero sympathy for her, and if that makes me a bad person, so be it.

Just so people don't jump at my post and start accusing me of being regressive, let me tell you that I'm totally against rape, whether it happens to a man or woman (yes, it happens to men too). No one deserves to go through it and people who go through it deserve justice for sure. HOWEVER, I don't consider what happened to Mihika as rape or molestation, BECAUSE she dumbly consented to it. She seduced Ashok knowing what kind of man he was and went with him to the bedroom. Seriously, that's called consent. She may not have wanted the whole thing, but why did she play such a dumb drama? Who was Shagun to her that she had to sacrifice everything, even at the cost of her own sister's comfort and happiness? I have no sympathy for Mihika. I used to love her character for being so unique and cute, but I hate her now. Mihir deserves someone far better.

I very strongly (and respectfully) disagree with your post, especially this line: "No one deserves to be abused, but Mihika had it coming."
My question is, how can a women EVER deserve to be molested? Is not the whole notion of molestation and rape based on taking sexual advantage of a girl without her consent?
"Mihika consented to it" - So are you saying that flirting with a guy equals "consent"? It gives the man the right to DRUG the woman and then take advantage of her? How can we overlook the fact that Mihika was drugged.
Mihika made some stupid decisions, yes. But she still does not deserve even one bit of what is happening with her. No woman can or ever does and blaming her is just encouraging rape culture. Why instead of shunning women for certain foolishnesses, can we not encourage them to make wiser decisions? Certainly a bit of our humanity has died or been repressed if we as a society can justify a woman's abuse under any circumstances.

As mentioned in my previous posts, I am sorry if any of my posts made it seem like I condone rape. I do not, and I don't think any person with an ounce of humanity can condone it, but to debate about the responsibility of someone's actions isn't wrong. Perhaps the wording of "she had it coming" was wrong, and I accept that, but my intention was to convey the sentiment that her bad decisions of late were leading up to something that would not bode well for her. Mihika was walking into the lion's den knowing what kind of man Ashok was. No, she did not deserve what she got and Ashok deserves to be punished severely, but it was very very irresponsible of Mihika to do what she did.

You completely misunderstood my point. šŸ˜•šŸ˜• Nowhere in my post did it come up that rape doesn't happen after marriage. It's completely irrelevant. I was saying that in today's world, one does not have to be married to have sex. You acknowledge that, don't you? People have pre-marital sex all the time. So what I said is that sex that happens outside of marriage is not rape if it is consensual. So if an unmarried couple, both of whom consent happily, have sex, it cannot count as rape just because they are not married. Also, people need to understand that your partner doesn't have to marry you just because he/she had sex with you, whether it be man or woman. If you consent to pre-marital sex, that's your choice but your partner is under no obligation to marry you just because you had sex outside of marriage (even if they promise). People should consent only when they're ready for pre-marital relationships. Forced marriages are a very wrong and detestable crime. They have no chance of being successful and lead to worse forms of domestic abuse.

I agree one can have sex outside of marriage!!!!

As for laws on these in India, the less said the better!!!!🤢 🤢 🤢

Hi just to clear some doubts RAPE IS DEFINED AS THE ACT OF SEX DONE EVEN IF Slitest penitration or touching of genital with a women WITHOUT A VALID CONSENT OR BLACKMAIL HER OR OBTAIN CONSENT BY PUTTING HER IN DANGER Or putting any one of her relatives in danger and have sex is rape.. If she is drugged or unconscious and sex I'd done is rape
Rape is consensual sex with a women less than 18 years and wife less than 15 years...
M not sure but recently there was some change in law about being married and rape clause

Any women above 18 with valid consent and in sound mind can be sex it is not rape

I don't know much about laws in India, but I find this a wrong law. Why does someone have to be married to have sex?šŸ˜•In fact, why does someone have to promise marriage to have sex? Don't get me wrong. I am against pre-marital sex, but if two people consent to have sex before marriage, that's their business. Neither should be forced into marriage just because they had sex with each other.

Besides, this article isn't very clear. It listed these two points which shed doubt on this "law".

  • However, there are 2 supreme court cases which hold that a promise of future marriage is not really a "misconception of fact", and the man is allowed to change his mind later.
  • So, technically, sex under promise of marriage is not really rape in India, but either through
ignorance, or some other circumstances of the case, you could get a judgement against you.

I agree with u. I feel INDIA is a free society and there is no harm in pre marital sex. It's my personal opinion. Sex life cannot be dictated, it's ones own choice. But it's beyond my understanding why there is such law for pre marital sex, but it's der...

I have one question. This is completely irrelevant to YHM but I was wondering because this case came up in the news recently.

There's a boy (13 years old) and his female babysitter (above 18) had sex with him 🤢. However, the charges pressed against her were dropped because the sex was apparently consensual.

However, my question is that if a woman under 18 years cannot consent to sex, shouldn't the same be said for a boy? I cannot imagine a 13 year old boy consenting to sex. Children his age don't know much about it. Shouldn't this woman be punished just as severely as a man in that scenario? I wonder why the charges were dropped. This is not a question for you particularly, but for anyone who knows the law.

I find laws highly unequal for both boys and girls.

Myth The woman was drunk / took drugs / was hitch hiking / wore tight clothes / worked in the sex industry / seduced him / probably got what she was asking for.

Fact If a person is unconscious or their judgement is impaired by alcohol or drugs, legally they are unable to give consent. Having non-consensual sex with a person who is intoxicated is rape.

Rapists use a variety of excuses to attempt to discredit the women they rape and to justify their crimes. But no-one asks or deserves to be raped or sexually assaulted and 100% of the responsibility for any act of sexual violence lies with its perpetrator.

Media often refer to women in the 'roles' that they have - 'young mum', 'grandmother', 'doctor's wife', 'prostitute' etc. - and describe arbitrary factors like what she was wearing or how she'd been behaving when she was sexually assaulted. The implication is that some women are more 'innocent' victims than others, that some are more worthy of sympathy, or that some women are partly to blame for their experience of sexual violence.

The rules imposed on women's behaviour allow rapists to shift the responsibility for rape onto women wherever possible, so that rapists are sometimes portrayed as victims of malicious allegations, carelessness or stupidity. There is no other crime in which so much effort is expended to make the victim appear responsible.

Yep. Ditto on the word! Sexual activity engaged in with a woman without her consent (whether she is conscious or unconscious, constitutes rape). However, though I do not state that Mihika deserved it or anything, the whole 'plan' was a botched up one. It had no credibility, no backup, no foundation, whatsoever. I cannot imagine any sensible, modern, independent woman (coz Mihika is portrayed as so) undertaking such a huge risk for no valid reason.

sample this;
1. Mihir-Shagun relationship would have been spoilt
2. IshRa's life would have been disturbed
3. Shagun wasnt listening to me or anybody else

are not valid excuses/reasons for committing the stupidity she did. Mihir loves Mihika more than he loves his witch of a sister, Ishita and Raman would have been better off had they at least known about this sordid plan, and Shagun isnt deserving of so much attention, kindness and general leeway. God, the way she was screaming her lungs out today couldnt have been matched by even miserly women haggling over vegetable prices!

Now, since the 'deed' has been done...assuming Mihika has been raped, all I ask of the CVs is to at least punish the trio of creeps - A.S.P. What they did to Ishita was horrendous enough to land them in jail..and now whatever that lech Ashok did is unpardonable. Since the CVs are so goddamn intelligent and creative, am sure they will find a way of fetching their TRPs while still showing the correct thing...but all i care about now is for these rascals to be punished and beaten black and blue. The informal thrashing, by the male members of the Bhalla and Iyer families...and then the formal police lock-up thrashing.

On the hindsight, is there any which way it can be conveyed to Mihika what she did was utterly stupid, irresponsible, dangerous and has the potential to screw the lives of two entire families? Ii'd be happy if this point was driven home. Though she needs to get justice, she also needs to know where she stepped the line. I shudder to think what other young women might absorb from such shows! YHM, i hope does not stoop lower on the scale of despicability!

Well said! šŸ‘šŸ‘ You have written out everything that was on my mind without botching up the words like I did. Mihika did not deserve what she got and definitely deserves justice. Ashok, Param and Suraj need to be put behind bars permanently. This would be an ideal ending to this track.

I also agree with the last highlighted part. Mihika should understand that what she did was highly irresponsible and out of line, not only because it got HER in trouble, but because it sends a bad message to women who are harassed by similar perverts in real life. I don't want anyone to learn from the show that what Mihika did should be emulated. I want Mihika's family to help her understand that next time something like this happens, she NEEDS to tell them and not plan something stupid on her own.

My dear, i understand your point, but again with the "she knew and still put herself in that position" i am not still coming in terms with. the truth is that 50% of people rape put themselves in that position expecially those raped by boyfriends, and even friends, but its never their fault they are raped... Mihika acted like a stupid police man who thinks he is too smart to fall into trap until me is killed he would have been a hero. She knew Ashok is slimmy, but a rapist? in her head, Ashok would just do what Ashok does best...sweet talking a woman to bed, and we all knew she would have refused at the end after she has her evidence.and the only reason Ashok didnt do as predicted was because he knew her intentions. he would have fall right into her trap.
if her mission was successful like in many situations both in reel and real life people would have called her a risk taking hero...but just because it fail now is is stupid and is at fault of being Rape?.

Claiming Mihika deserved to be raped is harsh, god! no! What Ashok did was not right..at all..and yes, more than 50% of women who get raped, get into the situation coz of their bf's, friends, bosses, acquaintances, etc...who they seem to trust at some level...that's a major shock factor for the women coz somebody, who they had implicitly trusted shatters it, and its unimaginable for them coz they hadnt such and such person to be so!

Here, Mihika had no reason, no ground to think Ashok would just be content with being a sweet-talking lech. Heck, he so much as barged into the conference room and saw her changing, knowing she was in there! So many times he has dribbled sleaze all over Mihika...then why even think this moron is going to just touch and go, but not go the whole way? What could have made her think so?It is the 'knowing the danger and yet acting in pursuance of the risk' that's considered as stupidity. Either way, I just want that jackass to land in jail. Oh and yeah, most of all i HATE Param..that b!!!!!!, who has aag lagaoofied in every way possible and is the root cause of all this shit, I want him to bleed!

Absolutely! And its not like the Bhallas and Iyers are moronic people who dont let the women of their house speak up for themselves! In fact, the kind of liberty Ishita takes in carrying out stupid plans of her own, I've never seen or heard of such freedom granted to any Indian woman, by her in-laws. Sure, you go out, work, party, wear clothes of ur choice, but you do things without consulting people in the family, who matter...that is something I dont think family members would just smile upon and applaud! Ishita brings her molester back home for "Simmi ke liye", she gets Shagun to sleep on Raman's bed for "Shagun ke liye", spares her harrasers "Mihir ki khushi ke liye, Shagun ke shaadi ke function ke liye"...what nonsense is this??!! And the Bhallas, Raman included, dont ever stop her from doing her manmaani...

Even Mihika, who is more outspoken, fiesty and fearless than Ishita, should fear speaking out the truth for these ridiculous "Mihir ke liye" "Shagun ke liye" reasons...cant digest such fake emotions...
