Hello everyone. I am back with a short and simple one shot based on Raman's current dilemma with a personal touch to end it. Of course this is just wishful thinking.
DO NOT COPY THIS POST AS THIS IS EXCLUSIVE TO INDIA FORUMS
I better leave a warning note that it is not my best since my muse is visiting me rarely these days given the current drama on the show.
As usual, I will be looking forward to your views, reviews and feedback.

He had taken so much from her.
She had given so much of herself to him and his family.
But how to let go of her? How to say goodbye to her? How to run away from her when all he wanted was to run not away but with her, together, towards happiness?
His heart wanted to quit beating at the thought of leaving her and letting go of her but...
...he had made his decision.
He had to leave. She deserved better.
He could no longer see her at the receiving ends of insults and humiliations. No longer could he be plagued by flashbacks of her hurt, tears and pain. He loved her too much. It would not be easy to let go of her or to get her to let go of him. He knew that her loyalty and faithfulness would never be able to let him go but...
...he had made his decision.
Some weeks back it would have been a piece of cake to fool her, to put on his RKB front and use his caustic words to hurt her, break her heart and forced her to turn away from him but now...his body language, his eyes, his voice, every cell in his body would betray him and give him away.
Standing in the doorway of their bedroom, he watched her busy spreading the quilt on the bed unaware of the storm raging inside him and that would hit her anytime. Closing his eyes and taking in a deep breath, he entered the room ready to face her. Even before he spoke, she felt him and she immediately looked in his direction.
- Aap aa gaye? Why so late? Ruhi was waiting for you but she was also excited to go to the movies...
She was her usual self, smilingly happily as she talked. But she immediately stopped in her track when she noticed his tensed look.
- Raman? Is everything ok?
- Yes. I am going back to Mumbai. I need to pack. I am taking the morning flight.
He was going to Mumbai! She looked at his back as he moved to a drawer to look for something with his mobile glued to his ear. He was asking an employee to get their Mumbai flat cleaned and ventilated.
- Business meeting? For how many days? Raman?
- Huh? Uh...yes. I will be away for...some time...
Something in the way he had said it made her heart racing. Her eyes searched his while he kept looking everywhere except her. She knew him too much by now. Was he going away from her...?
His words interrupted her thoughts.
- You go to sleep. I'll manage.
Without looking at her, he took his suitcase and buried his head in the cupboard while she stood and watched him packing his clothes. Something was definitely wrong. She could sense it. He had not been himself for the past days. He had had a sad face and even sadder were his eyes lately. She knew he was feeling guilty and responsible for whatever happened to her...with her. And now this unexpected business trip with no precise time when he would be back!!
She would find out what was bothering him...what was eating him up inside. She would find out how come this Mumbai trip cropped up. Slowly she moved to his side and took the neatly folded shirt from his hands.
- Let me help you Raman.
- No it's ok. I'll manage.
- Without me?
Her question finally urged him to lift his head to look at her. She was looking at him with searching eyes. A pin drop silence followed before he finally uttered the words she was dreading to hear.
- I am going away Ishita. I don't know for how long but I need to get away.
Finally he had said it. He felt his heart squeezing with pain but he had to tell her. He didn't want to run around the bush anymore. He didn't want to bargain for time anymore. She needed to know that he was going and he was freeing her from this stifling relationship. The answer from her didn't take any longer.
- You want to get away from me?
- You deserve better.
- I deserve the best Raman and...it is you.
- I don't deserve you Ishita. I have taken so much from you and you...
- Yes you are right Raman. You have taken so much from me.
Again her words struck him and turned him speechless. He turned away slightly to put the shirt in the suitcase but turned back as she again surprised him with her words.
- It is payback time now Mr Raman Kumar Bhalla. And I want you to give me everything back with interest.
She smiled at him in between glistened eyes. She knew how affected he was by all that have transpired lately. She knew he loved and cared for her and immediately understood the reason he wanted to go away from her. But she also knew that he didn't want that and his heart would break into million pieces just like hers if ever they had to live away from each other.
- Raman!
- No Ishita! My decision is taken. I am going to Mumbai and you are free to...
- To come along with you?
- Ishita stop being delusional. This relationship is only giving you pain and tears.
- YOU stop being delusional Raman. It is in this relationship only that my happiness lies.
- My complicated past, my entangled relationships and never ending problems are too overwhelming...
Ishita listened to him as he poured out what was bottled up inside him for days. Lately many people had been challenging his presence in her life knowingly or unknowingly; her amma, her best friend Mani, Shagun, his own son Adi ...
Ishita stared at him and realized how shaken he was, how vulnerable he stood in front of her. How she craved to move a step forward and took him in her arms but...
She would rather wait that he made that step forward and...she would readily embrace him. She was his Jhansi ki Rani. She would not let go.
" You have turned my house into a home...Be my strength Ishita...Your name board is placed in front of my home I am so proud of you..."
Ishita sighed. It is said that there are many voices to tell a man who he is really but... it was equally true that the loudest of all is that of a wife.She knew that right now her husband's ego was at its fragile best and she was the one who could build him or tear him up with her words and attitudes. Tentatively she asked him with a calm voice while her insides were trembling and ready to contract any time.
- So you think going away from me will protect me?
- All I know is you are better off without me.
- and All I know is I have never felt better with anybody else except you.
- I keep giving you tears and pains Ishita
- And you keep healing me too.
- Mani is right. I am no good for you.
- Mani's opinion doesn't matter to me. But yours do.
- I agree with what he said Ishita.
- But I disagree Raman.
- Ishita...you don't need me...
- But you need me, don't you?
Something big shifted between them in that small moment. Raman finally took the one step she was so patiently waiting for. Without waiting she moved one step forward so that they stood with their bodies almost touching each other.
They stared at each other without a word. When a lone tear escaped his eyes, she wanted to brush it away but his hands came up before hers to frame her beautiful face...
... He pulled her towards him in a bone crushing hug, holding on to her as if his life depended on it...on her. With such sweet surrender, she felt tears pricking the back of her eyelids. He kept pressing their bodies together and she finally uttered what she had been dying to tell him.
- I love you Raman.
He immediately pulled away to look at her smiling face and teary eyes. He smiled back at her with eyes glistening with tears remembering their talks in the car dome weeks ago.
" ek din Tum khud mujhse woh baat bataogey"
"Dekhte hain"
"Han Dekhte hain"
She has finally told him with no interruptions from the world around... Choked with emotions, he finally said to her in a husky voice:
- I don't know why God has blessed me with a person like you Ishita...
- We get what we deserve...
- I will never be able to tell you what is your worth in my life...
- Just show it to me then.
No more words were necessary. His mouth enclosed hers in a possessive kiss as he pressed his body further to hers. Lost in each other, he kissed her with as much tenderness as he could muster, conveying his message to her...
He has been longing for her acceptance. He felt her clinging tightly to his shirt, surrendering to him...
She was so right his lecturing queen. He needed her so much.
He heard her gasped when he bit gently on her lower lip. With a smirk he lifted his head and whispered:
- I love you Jhansi ki rani! You are right. There is no running away anymore.
- Even if you do, be sure to have me coming after you always.
He chuckled.
She giggled.
- Paagal!
- Every person needs a little bit of madness in life!
- But I need my paagal madrassan completely not only a little bit, all for myself!!
He pulled her towards him and hugged her for the nth time. Finally no running away. Only running together towards one goal- happiness!
