Helloz ... am a Punjabi but settled in Bangalore ... I know about the first Deewali is special in Iyengars .. have a friend and were discussing ... she also told about oil baht .. did not know that it will be public .. thanks to the thread ... got to know that that was CVs ka mood ... 😆

In North India also, the first Deewali after marriage is a big event .. the house is well decked up .. the couple ill wear new clothes ... gifts come from the girls side ... and of course all the lights and crackers and everything ...

Hahaha ... kya discussion chal raha hai ... talking about KC .. it depends ... lekin in my place KC is all a romantic affair ... and more than romantic a tease vaala affair .. after the pooja the ladies usually get together and the teasing part starts ... and believe me it is a group of old aunties to newly weds .. and the one or the other is made the scapegoat ...
normal cute conversations about mehndi ka rang, and what r u giving ur saas, or teasing about husband continues till sunset when everyone goes back to their respective homes ...

all in all it is a fun filled day when a community celebrates ... so I kind of enjoy it and of course find it romantic too 😳

i am from karnataka...and oil bath is followed in my home also..but oil bath is done in the privacy of their own bedroom...wife's will do for husband's and mom's for children's...first diwali for married couple is special..they usally go to the bride's place.
