The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.

Life has come a full circle for them. Once before, when Ruhi was ill and she wanted to attend to her, he had come home drunk after winning an award. He called her a gold digger and told a few other things and offered her money too before passing out on her shoulder
Things changed a lot from that day to this day, yet his past still clouds his mind, his present, to equate her to his ex and stake his claim
Darkness took over him yesterday, yet the purity of their hearts and their love made him stop..

That day also she was hurt and disgusted. Today she is even more hurt as for her he was the righteous man, who stood against his own family for her , for her sister and now for Sarika.

That day also she handled him and am sure now also she will handle him now as she understands him much more. Your quote says that exactly.

Not that I condone the act, but he was a man in despair, a man who had lost before, ready to do anything to hold on to her and momentarily didnt think of his actions and words, the effect of them on her.
He wanted to show that he was the best man in her life and ironically did the opposite.

Also, its not just about who's right or who's wrong. its more about what can happen when one holds back, doesnt communicate and lets misunderstandings creep in and wreck a relationship

That quote by Bob Marley is one of the greatest life lessons and I love it to the core as well! Life has come a full circle for Ishita and Raman, Ishita wouldn't be hurt before as she is hurt now because now there are feelings involved. Raman my man boy is dealing with his own demons, only if these two idiots talked! I am gonna lock them in a room till they talk it out.

Loved the little rant ! Also can writers show the hangover more often because raman's seems to be immune to them as per magic and that's not fair to us all human! ๐Ÿ˜†

not gonna lie the first little stories with plato and socrate were a bit too deep for me, thank you for the explanation following, it was needed for dumb folks like me !

the whole paragraph was too good ! : "Raman and Ishita might not be the most magnificent and/or tallest tree in the forest but they are good' trees for each other. ... Raman with all his flaws remains the 'tallest' tree in Ishita's eyes, and Ishita with all her flaws and her insecurities remains the 'tallest' tree in Raman's eyes."

In fact the whole post was perfect, i don't have much to add.

Loved the bob marley quote at the end too !

thank you doc for this beautiful post !

Rajji gurl you have me in splits every time I read something written by you, I completely agree can we get some hangover please because either Raman is a superhero immune to hangovers or we are doing something wrong ๐Ÿคฃ I cannot begin to tell you how many Sunday mornings have been spent trying to hold my head up with one hand while trying to drink some gatorade with the other ๐Ÿคฃ

Thanks for appreciating the post and I completely agree I went over board with Socrates and Plato for a fictional show. ๐Ÿ˜†

I so loved the Stalk and Tree comparison to our leads.. Actually it should hold good to every couple! It's only about coming to realise that..

Realisation!! Such an important feeling! And the most important feeling that's misplaced among these two! They realise things albeit late and rather differently..

He started off on a wrong notion about her but realised later that she wasn't anything like he had perceived her to be. She too judged him wrongly until she realised he puts on a pretense for the world while he's not so bad himself.

She always knew he was not Ram-an.. But from being raavan kumar he did climb uphill to become mere raman'. She also went from kadvi madrasan to meri' jhansi ki rani.. And the transitional journey for both was because they started accepting each other with the flaws/shortcomings etc.

Yes now they are at a juncture where they are unable to see beyond what is being seen outwardly. They are refusing to look beyond themselves and their hurt to understand what is troubling the other..

While Raman is drowning himself in the comfort of alcohol Ishita is oblivious to the entire cause of his torment! In fact she hasn't an iota of idea that SHE could be the reason he's suffering such! And isn't that what a misunderstanding is? When both sides are unaware and when both sides are equally responsible for getting into a situation unintentionally! Raman is reaching a crescendo.. He can't fall any further than he did yesterday.. In his fear of losing her, he insulted her.. In wanting to keep her close, he pushed her away.. In wanting to feel loved, he invoked disgust... Yes she loves him, but should she allow her husband to insult and disrespect her? NO! Yes she is his wife but should that give him the right to force himself on her? NO! There is sanctity in every relationship and that must be maintained by both the partners! She may have made a mistake by lying, but he made a bigger mistake by assuming and an even bigger mistake by not speaking up! But his words and actions yesterday were a BIG blunder.. And now its going to be one hell of a task for him to rise above not just his insecurities and his baggage of the past but also this extreme shame and guilt of his actions of the present to regain the lost respect in his wife's eyes!

He's now fallen below the level of Raavan Kumar.. And to become HER Raman again, he has a difficult road ahead! AS HE MUST!!!

Love

Bhuvana

Hello Bhuvana,
Thank you for this wonderful post and becoming a voice of reason, I couldn't agree more with everything that you have said about Ishra. Raman has a long battle to fight to become HER Raman again and no one can make him travel that road of repentance, travel he must and that alone without the crutches of alcohol.

And thank you for the kind words! ๐Ÿ˜Š

You claim to be a Doc?
I only see a poet...๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ‘

Seriously, you are gifted... I have never been able to look at marriages however lyrically you have described it. Ghar ki murgi daal barabar I guess, I LIVE in a marriage... I dont "see" what a beautiful relationship it can be.

Your analogies are perfect, your descriptions heartfelt... for your sake, I hope the CVs quit butchering the core Raman and Ishita characteristics and return them to us however the originally crafted them

You have a great gift... if ever you want to branch into family counselling, you are well placed๐Ÿ‘
You speak like this to a troubled couple? There is no way they are gonna wanna split.๐Ÿ˜ƒ I dont know where you live, but in the country where I live the divorce rates border on 70%..., you are worth your weight in GOLD
