Imagine a little brother knowing he is safe no matter what because in his older brother he has a protector, a savior, the person who will always be by him no matter what - to that younger brother his older sibling is a hero.

His older brother was the example his parents set for him - he is the one they asked him to look up to, to follow. He aspired to be his shadow if not a reflection of the man himself.

Things were hunky-dory until the time his brother got married...then the downfall began

Then Romi' hero gradually fell from grace.

He fell when he fought with his parents, particularly his father for his wife. He fell when he became someone who slogged day and night to fulfill the ever-increasing demands of his wife and yet the result was his hero was slighted, put down. No matter what his hero did, nothing was enough and the result was a henpecked husband. His hero bore things silently out of love at first and later because it became a vicious cycle.

***

Romi saw whatever his ideal brother did, he suffered.. could this be the reason why he doesnt want any responsibility..he wants the easy way out in life?

Thanks Swathi and yep as far as my theory goes this is the gist of things - he saw his ideal brother who did no wrong always suffer - remember the scene post the apology fiasco where Raman cries in front of his mom he asks her what mistakes have I made? Where did I go wrong and if I havent why do I always suffer? Why cant life be fair to me...that day Raman VOICED his pain, his frustration. He opened up to his mother but the changes that took place in him - the ones that made him RKB from Happy Bhalla cant have gone unnoticed by his family now can they be? And those were the formative years of Romi' life when all this transpired and as much as we think sometimes kids dont understand things - the truth is they are far more observant and sensitive to changes than adults and very perceptive of them - teens even more so which is the phase when Shagun perhaps entered their lives if he is 23 now and Raman married Shagun 12 years back at the time Romi would have been a 11 year old - a preteen, an age where things influence you easily and he grew up at the time when Bhalla family was going through its worst phase.

Remember he saw his dad and bro stopped speaking for almost 6 years - how does that not impact a naive mind?

So what does that mind lost without proper guidance and proper attention that is only pampered and indulged do - it tries to do all those things which might save him from going down the same lane but in doing so - he makes mistakes of his own, gets to tackle demons that are solely his

Very true.. But for a person who has seen how infidelity damages life, he has been pretty callous about physical relationships...inspite of getting repeated advices from his Bhabhi on respecting women.

Yes both are equally at fault .. one for her gullibility one for his reckless nature .. both have to be made accountable for their actions .. & the only way for that is .. Sarika once again taking help & being USED .. Romi .. well he will need to see how much his irresponsibility will COST HIS FAMILY ... thats when accountability will set in ..

@ Bold .. won't comment on this now .. as it would lead me to give away the plot .. but will definitely explain this when the time comes .. 😳

Superb post ...

Why do u want pics on the wall ... isn't his phone filled with pics of her ... a phone which he keeps in his hands or near his heart all the time ... 😳😉😉

Rubyy.. Thenk you hain.. coming from you its huge! 😳😳 Maybe as you say since Romi's irresponsibility will cost his family, accountability will set in... but again it will be someone else taking the hit for him...in this case Raman I am guessing considering how it is unravelling... but yeah it will be interesting to watch...!

lol woh toh hain... dil main basi hain aur phone main bhi... par jataata nahin hain...hidden behind the veil 😃😉 This was a random thought i got when i was watching the episode yday...

And yes.. I am a beginner.. I am slowly starting to learn how to connect the dots... someday i will get there 😃

On Raman asking Pathak to take Romi's case.. i believe its not only because his mom will be the one running around trying to get a lawyer. so he wanted to help her, but also if this goes to some other lawyer he might thrash Sarika's character in court just to prove Romi right
Pathak wont do that atleast for Raman's sake. The way Ishita didnt want her lawyer to talk ill about Raman and Raman didnt want to put down Amma during the court case.

He knows Sarika's not entirely to blame and was just trying to protect her from a public character assault in court. IMO

I have been trying to figure out Romi' change of stance for Ishu for quite a while too and this is the closest I could come to figuring things out. cant say how far along right I am though this is what I could see.

Romi has seen Ishita always does the right thing and for that she is willng to take a stand no matter what. She married a man she loathed practically for a child - it showed her strength and the lengths that this woman could go to for someone she loved - since she loved Ruhi immensely. She showed a rare courage when she spoke up when she was almost molested and it was the first time you saw Romi cringe and feel disturbed when he heard the narration of Param' act...this guy isnt bad deep down but he needs guidance. Courtesy of Ishita he is getting a glimpse of how wrong he has been or the wrongs he has done when he spoke of that ONS with a stranger way back she was ashamed of him and it hit him hard.

The thing is I suppose no one has expected things of him ever since he is basically the baby of the family but Ishita made some expectations of him when she spoke of reforming his ways or asked him to do certain things and for the first time he had someone not only guide him but also expect of him and he didnt wanna let her down hence his change over the time but now with the biggest possible blunder he could commit he knows he would be doing something almost everyone expected of him but the one whose disappointment would hurt him the most would be his bro and bhabhi...Raman he knows would perhaps take his anger out by thrashing him as he did, but the one who would not resort to any such tactics and would want him to shoulder his responsibilties and guide would be Ishu hence his hostitlity towards her.

he knows once he allows himself to pay heed to her advice he would need to face his biggest fear - that of owning responsibilities and staying in a long term committed relationship.

Very very true Aani...am really happy to get these explanations.

Wonderful write ups gals!!! Just went through the new updates on pg 1 as my day has just begun..so stopped by to say...this thread has been sort of a 'lighting the character' of all the main players of YHM...everyone adding more understanding to the layered, flawed ..very human characters of YHM. Just amazing reads!!👏 ...very enriching morning for me. Thank you all for that.🤗
