I have been busy with durga puja activities here in our community .. So have been out of IF .. But just logged in to read your Saturday post... And as always .. Great post!!! 👏
Will add my comments to your wonderful post as Raman is my favorite character in YHM.. His layered personality is rather unique in a soap...so I would want to write something...
Will be back our night time 😊

Here I had promised myself about 2 years back, not getting too involved about a serial as sometimes they come to end abruptly and you lay hanging as if someone snatched a book away from you at the start of the last chapter.
I started watching YHM on the recommendation of a friend about few months back. The episode that moved me to make a collage after two years was the one where Ruhi says to her Dad he's her favorite in the world.
The apparent don't-care-what-others -think-of-me guy just broke down like he had received the best award in the world. My 1st connection to the character of Raman. His deep insecurities walled within his tough shell of khadoos nature, a guy whose scorned past had changed his exterior...but deep inside ran the true Raman : his golden heart which would do anything for his loved one. Just imagine that guy falling in love...that is a journey by itself. That unfurling of Raman is what intrigues me...keeps me hooked to the show.
On other side we have Ishita..also burnt by love...rejected for her inability to conceive. Her insecurity combined with her somewhat inane nature of seeing good in everyone and trying to fix a situation she deems is not right. The same nature that lead them to becoming each other's spouse.
Their road from hating each other to falling in love has been truly about pal pal badhe hai mohabbatein. Two apparent opposites, but with deeper similarities when it comes to love. I love moments that depict the development of a couple's relationship. YHM's strength lies in those moments...each moment a subtle stepping stone to establish the Raman-Ishita equation.
Now we stand at a part where both have more than an inkling of their spouse's feelings for them. Both want acknowledgement from the other side...Raman has tried to open up Ishita few times but took a step back as she resisted every time. He was willing to be patient as he knew it was just a matter of time.
Then comes Mani. An apparent perfect man, who has, according to Ishita herself, ability to make her smile. Raman's deep seated insecurities have came forth with a vengeance not because of the perfectness of Mani...but how Ishita reacts around him. After Shagun's betrayal he resurrected himself on the outside.. But like they say time heals wounds but the scar tissue remains. And this time around something much more is at stake. Ishita means more to Raman, than Shagun ever did to him. According to his own admission, this is the woman who has taught him the true meaning of love...the unconditional, selfless aspects of it. Give her up easily, he'll not.
This is not about jealousy...It's about claiming and owning what he knows is his...the love of his life Ishita. He's prodding and nudging her to acknowledge his position in her heart. Hence the barbs are free flowing. He wants her to react to him and give him that what his heart yearns: her acceptance. of him as her husband, as her love...her soulmate.
I don't know whether I made sense..I am not a writer...I express with visual aid 😆.
But wanted to write as this is what makes YHM special to me and all those references you put in your write up...tells the story of love of Raman-Ishita.
