Disclaimer: the title of this OS is inspired by the movie 'The Vow'
Warning: the following OS is based on spoilers.
I've merged both the parts in one shot which is as follows:
The moment of impact.
The series of moments that define one's life. He was caught up in one of those moments when he saw her tending to his ex. Sometimes he'd wonder if she was even human when she acted the way she did today, always doing the right thing by every one. He fails to understand this woman, his crazy woman. He pulled her towards the corner of the vanity table and whispered the question pronouncing his anger "what is she doing here?"
"Resting of course." She didn't understand it herself, why did she have to bring her here of all the places?
"Where are we to sleep then?"
"As if we sleep on bed every day!" Thinking about them sharing the bed every night.
He raised an eyebrow at her response.
Oh, she understands now. He meant about the sleeping arrangement for tonight. She sighed then she wasn't thinking clearly was she? But then that's the least that could happen to her when he was standing dangerously close and with his each word his breath fanned her face. She looked flustered now, was it due to the sleeping predicament or the proximity? She raised her confused eyes up to him asking for a solution for the problem that she had landed them both into.
"Go check if every one at your mother's has slept." He suggestion stirred some kind of anger in her eyes, some disappointment. And she could only nod and left to do as she was bid.
He was waiting for her in his living room for over half an hour now but that sleepy head must have dozed off, he gathered. He thought to check up on her and sent a text asking "do you ever plan to use that brain of yours?"
What did this man expect from her? Now what is this message supposed to mean after dispatching her like the way he did from their own room while his ex rested like a Queen!
"What is it now?" She replied.
She wasnt sleeping clearly then why the hell was she taking this long to update him on the availability of an extra room?
"Open the gate." She was startled to read his message, how could he juggle with her emotions at this rate? But she did open the barrier separating them. When she turned around, he followed her. When she looked back at him and stopped on her way, so did he. When she continued to lead him to her current room, he only closed the door behind them and remarked "no couch for you huh?"
"What precisely is that supposed to mean? " as she made her way towards her side of the bed.
He started to lie down while answering "you didn't expect me to share the room with her, did you?"
She turned to her side and only smiled at his remark.
Crazy woman! He thought, that smile didn't go unnoticed by him. She has a lot to learn. He liked his woman to be direct, like she was with him when it comes to any matter but him. He didn't expect her to leave her territory after what they have gone through together.
They've come a long away indeed, he smiled at that thought and asked himself the same question he had asked her before, am I falling in love with her? He couldn't understand the pang he felt when he saw his ex in that room again. He knew well its was indifference be felt towards his her but it was the bewilderment in his wife's eyes that tug him in his heart.
That one moment, the moment of impact which will define his wife's importance in his life. The status that she had in his life. Didn't she know he was over her long ago? May be she was doing it to him on purpose he shakes his head on this thought. To punish him or to ask him to move forward with her? It was the latter he was certain now, that smile on his wife's face marked a victory before she fell asleep.
He thought he could ponder over this delimma some other time, tonight he wanted a good night sleep after yesterday's incident of bed breaking! He didn't know when in his thoughts he had moved to her side of the bed or was it her moving to his? He ignored the cause and effect theory and decided to make the most of this moment when she wouldn't scream in her deep slumber. He nuzzled closer to her and slept peacefully.
The next morning.
He walked in their house after a few minutes of her arrival looking disheveled and still sleepy and found his place on the sofa whole complaining "why didn't you wake me up before leaving?"
"Because that's not what I do daily." making her way towards the kitchen to start preparations for the breakfast.
"Not when we are sleeping at your mother's and she is all over the place with her chantings! God, do you guys even sleep at night or just pretend to?"
"Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you."
"You have a lot to be sorry for." He made his way towards the fridge to get water.
"What are you trying to say here?" She asked while getting the flour from the cabinet.
"You know quite well what I'm talking about. Its her. Why..? Why did you have to do that ? Her of all the people." He kept the bottle down on the counter in front of her a and continued saying "look, ishita, it's your place as much as it's mine. You have claim over everybody residing in this house." When she looked at at him with the question in her eyes, he nodded without flinching for even a second that assured her her right over him also. "I understand your concern and what you did was out of your good nature but that woman doesn't deserve it. Don't ask this of me. I can't pull this off."
"I wasn't thinking when I brought her here the impact she'll have.. On you" she said when she moved around to keep the fruits on the dining table, he held her wrist stopping her from moving.
"It's you... It's us. We don't have any skeletons in the closet but I don't want any shadows hanging over our head either."
"I'm sorry, I didn't think about the repercussions clearly" she said.
"Its okay, you are lucky you have a forgiving husband. You can start by getting my stuff from our room."
"Raman.."
"I'm not going in that room while she is here." He didn't didn't let her finish her protest.
She seemed to be thinking about it when he remarked "go before I change my mind, I'll get ready in ruhi's room." He concluded and left to take shower.
She, however, remained rooted. He never fails to amaze her. One minute he can be so demanding, the next he'll set everything down for her. He is pointing out probelms one moment and in the next he'll come up with a solution to take all her worries away. And just when she thinks he is all riled up and explode, he explains the whole scenario and gets it over it. She moved to get his stuff when she heard him shout her name from the bathroom.
The moment of impact, the moment he makes her realize they have got to explore more being each other's partner.
