*** EDITEDTHIS is what I am talking about !!! I am going to 'analyse' your story, not just praise it... I hope its OK 😛
... one of the best writers on this forum wants to analyze my post ... honestly, am honored. The fact that you find it worthy to put some words about my work itself means a lot to me.I am one of those people who have very vivid, powerful dreams that linger in my memory days after the actual night, so much so, that I some times think I could actually write movie scenes 😆And I UNDERSTOOD this piece.
@BOLD: Thank you 🤗. This line literally means the world to me.Here's how I analyse my own dreams the next day:- I first find the theme in what I dreamt about, and then try and remember why that particular dream was triggered. In this case, it was Raman's discussion with Shravan, and his sudden upheaval of paternal emotions.- The backdrop to this is also the 'feelings' he is having for his wife, which are being given names due to instances like the Vrat/Karwa chauth etc.- He's seen Ishita in an intimate situation (the hook scene I mean)... which has put his heart in a spin of its own.- For the first time in years, he's actually sacrificed something professionally for someone else.- The entire reason for his professional success was his first wife (or rather, her betrayal) and he's sacrificing it for his second wifeHis subconscious takes all this together, and paints a surreal picture for him... one where his life is complete. one where he has a life partner who's by him till he grows old. one where both his children love him equally.
@BOLD: I take a bow. You have got exactly pointed out what I was thinking during my drive back home after I got this idea. I simply placed these ideas in a coherent set of words.he's always wanted that... but when he wakes up and looks at Ishita... he is shocked...I deduce that his dream is a combination of his hopes/wishes about the ideal life he wanted, with the ideal woman he found just now... its almost as if, if he had a chance to rewrite his story, the female lead in it would be different... there's also some pain that the woman who was the supposed to be the one didnt actually be his 'complete' one... she ended up just being the mother and not partner.
@BOLD: It made perfect sense Lucky. I honestly was not able to decide who did Raman saw in his dream. For me, it could have been anyone. Heck, it could be a mixture of both also.
Its his subconscious mind and lets face it, Shagun was indeed an important part of his life. At some point of time, she was his life and definitely inspite of her leaving him, a part of him would have yearned for her.
On the other hand, he could have imagined Ishita, because whatever he has expected from Shagun, he has gotten it from Ishita. So, she fits the place beautifully.
It could be that he will imagine his first wife in the beginning and the pictures changed in the collage with time.
After a long self battle, I decided to keep it hazy and let the viewers imagine what they want to envision ... after all, the entire world is all about perception 😊.Did I make sense to you??? Its clear in my head 😆Now that I have vented (I GOT TO stop typing so much on other people's posts )
You are always more than welcome to type as much as you want in my posts. Your thoughts are always great in terms of perspective and analysis.Your story has been written with words that suit a story, but a flow that comes with a poem... the lines at the beginning are priceless!!! 👏 ⭐️ This is a beautiful piece and so eloquently and poetically written!!!☺️ am literally blushing while reading this. Thank you.and because I like quotes 😛"It's strange how dreams get under your skin and give your heart a test for what's real and what's imaginary." - Jason Mraz

I love you for writing this! For not spelling things out. Because that is how lived experiences are. They are complicated, tinged with thoughts of what could have or should have happened and closures aren't that easy to achieve in real life. We may try to explain and label and place limits on things but our subconscious has the most powerful way of bringing together all our experiences, all our wishes and secret or unfulfilled desires and all our emotions into one single messy whole and throw it at us and say 'go figure'!
Dreams are poems that our minds write and this story of yours really captured that. Thank you!
