This was a blunder from the cvs. Knowing pervert was there, I think it would have been better for Raman to say for her not to participate and tell her the reason why and then maybe have them both get pressured by the organisers for her to get on the catwalk, which would have been better. They tend to forget what's appropriate, I don't even understand why Mihika is working alongside pervert and Ashok, it does not make sense.

He knows that Ishita is the kind of woman who can handle walking on the ramp in spite of these people. He wants her to have her space and walk with her head high. Also its a party in his honor. for more poetic souls..the Ramp walking is for the bold with head held high.. It the spotlight where u say, look at me, I have no fear and i walk with grace and honor, no matter what u think ...Thats what Raman was encouraging Ishita to do.
