I will start with complaints this time😈 😃

- Story was TOO SHORT (this is a minor problem, i can live with it... but not the next one)

chalo, timepass done... the first part is beautiful Aani. I have always thought (and hoped) that Raman will realise his feelings for her first. and this track also reinforced that for me. So I love how your first chapter showed his thoughts. I love that he realises that he's messed up big time. and at the same time he knows that she is a special person for him. very well written my friend 👏 this story of yours is going to be a 'relief' space for me because I am going to get exactly what I want to happen. I am not sure about it on the show.

Oh he so as hell is falling for her and falling hard, I dont know who will confess first I admit but I wont be surprised if he is hit with the realization first at least that he is in love with Ishita cos she clear as a bell has no clue about his feelings... and is royally ignoring her own - which is obvious from her asking the family to come to the picnic silly Raman never even took her out on a date, a dinner on his own and expects to take her on a trip 😆 serves him right with whats coming his way - he has to buck up and go all in if he wants to woo wifey 😎

Chapter 2 - The Essence of Romance.

She is unlike any woman he has ever known.

So when he thought about gifting her something he knew he had to be different, he had to step up his game and really knock her off her feet not to mention he knew the usual wouldn't work.

Think of gifts for women and you come up with clothes, jewelry, spa trips, vacations... but this was Ishita here... she isn't most women, nor is what she did for him something trivial.

She has wholeheartedly forgiven Adi for his mistake and vowed to help him raise Adi too. With her by his side he so knows his son will have the best possible mother, the best upbringing there could be. The woman who birthed his children might be biologically sound to be called a mother but when it comes down to it... she does not have a single maternal bone in her body.

He can't help but be astonished how Shagun forgot all about Adi being locked up for a night, his upcoming trial all because Ashok got down on one knee and proposed to her with a diamond ring.

There they were waiting to talk to Adi - him and his family along with the Iyers and instead of teaching Adi something, admonishing him or even just hugging him to provide the reassurance he would be all right... she started discussions of her upcoming wedding plans, honeymoon trip and trousseau shopping.

Seriously how could he have been stupid enough to think, to even consider the notion that Shagun had lied about the accident, said she was the culprit out of a mother' love for even a second. Knowing the woman for as long as he has he should not have even entertained the very idea of it for a passing second and he had bought it. He really needs to sort out what went wrong with him then.

He honestly pities Ashok now, poor bas***d does not know what he is in for... or maybe he does, good he deserves the shit headed his way he thinks with a wicked smile on his face.

Come to think of it, he must send Ashok a thank you card and a rather spectacular gift on their wedding day for taking away the vain woman from his life... he might have actually ended up in an asylum keeping up with her or maybe prison for murdering her he thinks.

If someday these two ended up procreating; their child would definitely be the devil' spawn he thinks amusingly.

He shakes his head to discard the thoughts of his ex and her fianc, he would rather focus on his wife, speaking of which, and she finally enters their room.

She gives him a slight smile before she veers towards the wall unit and gets busy in selecting a book to read for the night.

He clears his throat to get her attention when even that does not work, he gives himself a kick mentally, and finally lays aside his Mac, gets up from the bed and walks towards her.

Tapping her shoulder, he gets her attention and notices she has a bulky volume in her hands as she turns around.

Unsure of where to begin the conversation he runs a finger along the spine of the book, and speaks up.

"So you finally started to work out?"

"Excuse me?"

"You don't seem bright enough to keep up with the intricate plot and not to mention the sheer number of characters in this series after all, so I assumed you picked this one to work out, because the book is so bulky."

"And what would you know about the plot of this book or the number of characters in this series I have never seen you pick it up."

"See I told you, you aren't bright enough, I haven't read the book but I do watch the series and so know all about it."

She raises her eyebrows at that,

"I dint know you had it in you to follow anything other than your stupid cricket matches and football games."

"You have a lot to learn about me clearly then."

"Hmm we will see about that... right now I am more interested in finding out what happens next in my book, was so busy lately haven't picked it up in a while."

She is about to move when he his words halt her in her tracks.

"Seriously why read the books when the show is so much more appealing?"

She rolls her eyes at that before commenting,

"Of course you would say that...after all no episode of this show can be complete without someone dropping their clothes."

His eyes bulge for a moment before he has a wicked gleam in them and a delight that matches on his face as he next says.

"I knew it! You are not as coy as you seem... as innocent as you pretend to be. You watch this show too how else would you know there is a nude scene in each episode of this show?"

He watches as she goes from befuddled, as he begins, turns to squirming and clearly, embarrassment as he completes... oh he has never been more thankful of finding something by chance.

He remembers being in the US for a conference two years ago when after an exhaustive day he had returned to his room to relax and dine when he had switched on the TV to kill time. The hotel had no sports channel that aired cricket matches and baseball did not really work for him so he started surfing and halted when he saw a rather... evocative scene being played on TV. By the time the hour was up, it had him hooked and roused...in more than one ways. Immediately he had purchased the DVD for the previous season of the show and began following it rigorously. Work and life do not allow him much time to keep up with Pop Culture... but he had never assumed his wife was a fangirl too... oh, it is delicious watching her blush.

She is mortified and self-conscious at her husband catching on to the meaning of her comment, oh why she had to open her mouth and say that. Idiot, she scolds herself mentally. Before she can say a word, however her husband has to open his mouth and say something so scandalizing her jaw drops, literally.

"Say do you watch this show... to take some tips? Cos I'll have you know... I won't allow you to take advantage of me."

"Take advantage of you? Are you out of your mind? Seriously...you need to get yourself checked up."

"Don't lie... I see the way you look at me, never miss a chance to touch me... oh my god you are totally trying to learn some tips from the women on that show to seduce me."

"You are so full of yourself. It is amazing, really... I don't think I have ever met someone who is so vain."

"Forgetting my ex are you?"

"No... I meant among men... besides I dint have to stay with your ex, you did... clearly you know more about her Narcissus complex than I would."

"Wow so you picked up on that issue of hers too but that's beside the point, which is you totally are into me and that is why you are watching the show... to take some tips."

"If I am taking tips from women on this show they aren't about seduction... rather they are about poisoning your husband and remaining undetected while at it."

"Haw... you are such a vengeful woman! Just because I won't let you have your way with me you would resort to poisoning me?" He says with an expression of mock horror on his face.

"Oh please have my way with you? Have you looked at yourself in the mirror clearly? You seriously are crazy and delusional; I need to get you a psych consult."

"Oh I see myself in the mirror everyday and totally know all about my good looks, so don't try to brush off your attraction for me and label it as my delusion."

"Adding an eye check up to the list of problems you need a consult for."

With a roll of her eyes and a shake of her head, she moves towards the couch completely ignoring her husband who is smiling ear to ear. He missed their banter so much.

She had barely sat on the couch and was looking for the bookmark she placed when her husband came and stood beside her with a smile on his face, which she choose to ignore and returned her attention to the book at hand.

When he takes away the book from her hand, she retaliates as she stands up trying to take her book back, as he keeps on moving away from her.

"Raman what is the meaning of this? Give my book back, I wanna read it."

"You can have your book back but only on one condition."

"I am not interested in any more discussions about your delusions."

"It's important... What I wanna talk to you about... it's regarding Adi and Ruhi."

As soon as she hears the names, she stops trying to chase him all over the room.

"Why didn't you say that before? What is it about Adi and Ruhi that you wanna discuss?"

The mother in her comes to the fore and he sees the visible transformation on her face, in her stance and her voice as soon as the name of their children comes up... their children, he repeats in his head... he likes the sound of that.

The thought has him smiling softly at her as she looks on at him.
