Raman & Shagun drive to meet their lawyer in a hotel. Ishita is standing in the middle of the road with tears in her eyes. She was hurt, feeling betrayed by her husband. He not only broke her trust, but he broke her heart into thousands of pieces, which were now pricking her soul. She was walking in a lost state of mind on the busy road when a car had almost hit her had she was not pushed away by a man to save her.
It was none other than her best friend, big brother-cum-brother-in-law, and her guide- Bala .
She was still not able to put her mind to work. She was not able to understand the turmoil of emotions she's going through. She couldn't hear anything,the busy road, the noise of the heavy traffic, Bala's voice and even she wasn't able to hear her own heartbeat.
Bala shook her to make her come back to her senses.
Bala worriedly asks "Ishu, kya hogaya hai tumhe? Aise road pe bina aage peeche dekhke kyun chal rahi thi? Kuch hojata toh? "
He noticed she was shaken from inside. He never saw her in that state, not even when Subbu & his mom insulted her and broke their engagement. Not even when she got to know she couldn't ever be a mother. And not even when the beast Parmeet tried to molest her within the confines of her own home.
Bala was extremely worried for her. "Ishu, you have to tell me what's going on? I know there's something that shattered you from inside. I never saw you so weak and broken. Tell me Ishu! You know, I'm always there for you."
Ishita mumbles a low "I'm fine" which is not accepted by Bala. Ishita requests him "please Jiju, iss waqt mujhe akela chod dijiye. I know, aapko meri chinta ho rahi hai, par trust me, iss waqt main kuch nahi keh sakti. Lekin main aapke paas zaroor aungi agar main khud handle nahi kar payi toh."
Bala didn't want to leave her like that but he knew that he needed to give her that space. Perhaps, it's something between the husband-wife issue and he shouldn't interfere unless she was ready to share.
Bala hovers his hand on Ishu's head saying "I know, chahe kitni bhi badi problem ho, meri Ishu kabhi kamzor nahi pad sakti. Humesha tumne har toofan ka saamna datke kiya hai. But please, agar tumhe kabhi bhi meri zaroorat ho, mujhe call karna! I'll be there for you always."
Ishita gives him a weak smile and goes from there. Bala thinks to talk to Raman about it.
Romi meets his friends and they decide to go to a hotel to meet other friends and later go for a movie.
He sees Raman & Shagun sitting at the table in the same hotel. He wonders how can Raman be with that witch-Shagun. But, his main concern was to be not caught by Raman as he lied in the office to spend time with friends. So Romi tells his friends to leave from there and go somewhere else.
After Romi leaves, the lawyer comes to meet Raman & Shagun. They discuss about the legal formalities of the case and papers.
As they are done with the work, Shagun asks Raman if he can accompany her to school to pick up Adi and then drop them to their home. Raman is frustrated already and he tells her to go on her own as he has an important meeting in the office. Shagun leaves.
Raman drives back to work with increasing guilt. He tells to Ishita in his mind - " Mujhe maaf kardo Ishita. Mujhe chillana nahi chahiye tha. I'm helpless. Koi mujhe samjhe ya na samjhe, koi mujhe maaf kare ya na kare, I don't care. But sirf tum mujhe maaf kardena Ishita. "
He walks into his cabin followed by a worried Mihir.
Mihri- "Bhai, aap mera phone kyun nahi utha rahe the? Ishita bhabhi ka phone aaya tha subah. Aapke baare me puch rahi thi."
Raman immediately asked "kya!...to tumne kya kaha usse? "
Mihir replied- "aapne subah mujhe kaha than a ki aap office der se aoge, kuch imp kaam hai. Toh maine bhabhi ko wohi bola."
Raman is sort of relieved that Ishita didn't know anything. Mihir notices something is bothering him.
Mihri- "Bhai, kuch to baat hai. Koi problem hai kya?"
Raman shouts at Mihir - "Koi problem nahi hai! Aur agar hai bhi to wo meri problem hai! Just leave me alone!"
Mihir knew there was no use to ask him but he worried for Raman hoping whatever problem he is in, will soon be solved.
On the other side, Ishita is sitting in her clinic, her mind not able to focuss on anything. She informed sarika to cancel her appointments for today and forward any emergencies to the other dentist on call.
She leaves to pick up Ruhi from school and drives to home. All the way, Ruhi was narrating her first day at school, her new friends, new class teachers etc but Ishita was not able to hear anything.
Later, Ishita feeds Ruhi dinner and serves other members. They ask her to have dinner but she says she'll eat later.They think she wants to wait for Raman as always so doesn't force her.
Raman is about to leave for home when he gets call from Bala.
Bala- "Raman, agar tum free ho to mujhe tumse kuch baat karni hai 2min."
Raman- "Haan Bala, bolo? Adi theek se padh raha hai na?"
Bala-"Haan, par main Adi ke bare me nahi, Ishu ke baare me baat karna chahta hu."
Raman straightens up in his seat wondering what happened "Kya hua Ishita ko?"
Bala- "Raman, I know ki mujhe husband-wife ke beech me nahi bolna chahiye, but Ishu ko main apni choti behen manta hu. Aur main use iss tarah se nahi dekh sakta"
Raman is confused and worried as to what's Bala talking about?- Kahin Bala aur Ishita ko sach pata to nahi chal gaya? Ab main kya karun...kya kahun? Mujhe kuch samajh nahi aa raha.
Raman's thoughts are interrupted by Bala's voice as he continues- "Raman, mujhe nahi pata ki kya problem hai, par I know one thing for sure ki Ishu is not fine. Usko kisi baat ka gehra sadma pahuncha hai. Aur mai Ishu ko jaanta hu, wo kabhi apna dard share nahi karti hai. I just wanted to know ki sab theek to hai na tum dono ke beech?"
Raman managed to say "Haan, sab theek hai. Don't worry Bala, Ishita is fine."
Bala wasn't convinced but he couldn't probe further so he said "Haan, tum ho na uske saath. Agar koi problem bhi hoga to tum uske saath humesha rahoge to protect her. Theek hai rakhta hu bye Raman."
After ending the call, Raman bangs his fist onto his car. He is caught helpless between his two loves. One being his son, who is a part of life, his own blood. And the other is his wife- Ishita, who has now become his life, though he is not aware of the same. After composing himself, he drives his way back to home.
Ishita tells Ruhi to sleep with her dadi-dadu tonight as she has an emergency in the clinic and her papa also is not home yet. Ruhi protests initially but later understands and agrees.
Ishita takes her car keys and drives off. Raman reaches home to find everyone asleep. He notices Ruhi sleeping with his parents. He searches for Ishita all over the house but doesn't find her.
He calls her but she doesn't answer his calls which panics him. He remembers Bala's words and feels he cannot hide this truth anymore.
Raman thinks- "ab bahut hogaya. Main aur ye sach nahi chupa sakta Ishita. Aaj tumhe sab kuch batadunga. Tumhara bharosa thoda hai maine...par uska dard mujhe ho raha hai. Maine tumhara dil dukhaya hai , par aisa kyun lag raha hai ki chuban mujhe ho rahi hai."
Ishita enters her clinic cabin, switches off the mobile and cries uncontrollably.
She thinks- "Raman, kyun kiya aapne aisa? Mera bharosa thod diya? Aur meri amma? Unhone to aapko apna beta maana. Aur aap uss shagun ke liye...?" She stops and thinks again "Ishu, tub hi kitni pagal hai. Shagun unka pehla pyaar, unki pehli biwi hai. Aur tum kya ho? Sirf Ruhi ki Ma aur naam ki biwi!"
Tears flew down her cheeks at that self realization of her value in his life.
Here, Raman is unable to sleep, waiting for Ishita so that he can let out the heavy baggage of guilt from his shoulders and ask her for forgiveness for every hurt he had caused. He tries her number again and again but gets the same response- Switched off.
He is extremely worried for her, so calls Sarika at 3am in the night asking "Sarika, I'm sorry for disturbing you at this odd hour, Can you please tell Ishita to call me back after her work is over?"
Sarika immediately tells him that Ishita cancelled her appointments today and so there are no emergencies for her.
Raman hurriedly takes his car keys and leaves to find her. He wonders why Ishita left home if there was no emergency. He finds Ishita's car at the clinic and rushes to her cabin.
As he opens the door, he feels relieved seeing Ishu sleeping in the chair with her head supported by the backrest of the chair.
He goes near to wake her up but suddenly he notices tears running out from the corner of her eyes.
He gently wipes her tears when she wakes upto his touch in a fright. He sees her eyes swollen, puffy and red as if she cried endlessly. He wondered if she got to know the truth or is it something else she is bothered about?
Ishita pushes away his hand as she gets up and says "Aap yahaan kyun aaye? Thodi der mujhe akela chod do please. Main ghar aajaungi Ruhi ke uttne se pehle. You don't have to worry about getting her ready for school."
Raman gets a hint that she is annoyed with him. He tries to speak "Ishita, tum aise kyun chali gayi ghar se jabki koi emergencies bhi nahi the tumhare. Aur cell kyun switch off hai? Kitni baar maine phone kiya. Aise bina bataye kaise jaa sakti ho?"
Ishita gives him a cold stare saying "kyun? Aap bina bataye kahin bhi kisi ke saath bhi ja sakte hai, to main kyun nahi ja sakti? Aur mujhe aapko koi explanations nahi deni hai. Plz I request you, mujhe akela chod do..."
Raman is deeply hurt by her words, but what hurt him more was the pain of her tears. He knew he was responsible for all this.
Raman speaks in a soft tone- "Ishita, mujhe tumhe kuch batana hai, please tum ghar chalo. I need to talk to you. I request you."
Ishita doesn't agree. "Mujhe koi baat nahi karni hai aapse. Aapko jo bhi baat karni hai aap shagun se aur Adi se jake kijiye. Mujhe mere haal pe chod do."
Raman understood that she probably knows the truth or might have seen him with shagun. He tries to explain her "IShita, mujhe ek mauka do, let me explain..." as he tried to come close to her, she held out her hand signaling him to stop.
Ishita "Mere paas mat aaiye. Aur maine kaha na aap jao yahaan se..." she turned her back to him as she shouted.
He was not letting go of her so easily, so he grabbed her hand and dragged her into his car while Ishita kept pleading to leave her.
They drove back home and Raman took her to their room, closing the door so as to not disturb others.
Ishita went to the window, folding her arms and crying looking at the dark sky.
Raman walks upto her. "Ishita, plz ek baar mujhe sab sach batane do. Uske baad tum chahe mujhe koi bhi saza do, main chup chap sehloonga, par ek baar baat sunlo meri...please"
Ishita fumes "Kyun sunoon main raman? Jab main aapki pareshaani sunna chahti thi, aapka dard samajhna chahti thi, tab aapne mujhse jhoot bola, baatein chupayi, bina matlab ke mujhpar aur meri Ruhi par chillaya...sab kuch tumhari uss Shagun ke liye na? To ab kyun mere paas aye ho aap?"
Raman stays mum with guilty looks which irritates her further. She continues "Kal raat ko bhi shagun se baat kar rahe the. Par mujhse kaha ki subramaniyam ka phone hai! Aur aaj? Aaj to aap shagun ke saath car mein...[pauses]...chee...mujhe to kehte hue bhi sharam aa rahi hai..."
Raman doesn't understand what she meant. "Ishita, aisa kuch nahi hai jaisa tum soch rahi ho..."
Ishita cuts him off saying "Oh really Raman? Maine khud dekha hai aapko aaj Shagun ke saath Ruhi ke school ke bahar. Mai wahi thi jab aa puss Shagun ke saath apni purani yaadein tazaa kar rahe the! "
Raman is shattered to hear this from her. Already he was drowning in guilt of hiding the accident truth from her and now she has totally misunderstood his meetings with Shagun. He felt as if the more he tried to clear the mess in his life, the more he was getting trapped in it with no way out.
