Okay, so i can see that the last few episodes in particular have caused a lot of backlash and i have been wanting to make this post for quite sometime now πŸ˜† Anyways, am probably the only one who absolutely loved the last couple of episodes..Apart from a couple of scenes here & there πŸ˜† I believe this track has been top notch in terms of acting & execution..Its annoying no doubt but when you have someone like Karan acting his pants off & making it all look so darn realistic, i have nothing to complain πŸ˜† Anyways, coming to the point of my post, i believe RKB has been totally in character the last few days..Was Raman ever the prince charming who sweeps a girl off her feet to begin with? Someone who almost always does the right thing? Why expect things which he is incapable of? Raman is an incredibly flawed character..Someone who believes in extremes..There is absolutely no moderation in his approach & thanks to all the emotional baggage, the guy is effed up in the head πŸ˜† He is vulnerable, dense & impulsive..I thought all this was established right from the time the show started? Oh and his borderline psychotic love for Adi πŸ˜† Raman is obsessed with his son and Adi can literally get away with murder..And i always felt Raman loves Adi a lot more than Ruhi..In the Raman-Ruhi relationship, its Ruhi who is always compromising & going out of the way to make her dad happy..And it is the exact opposite with brat Adi πŸ˜† And Raman obviously things pampering equates to good parenting..IMO, both Raman & Shagun suck as parents..Their approach is all wrong..This was particularly highlighted in the epi where Ishita put Adi in his place and dealt with him in the best way possible..Unfortunately, Raman doesn't believe in saying NO πŸ˜† He loved Shagun more than his kids which of course lead to disastrous consequences and now he loves Adi more than anyone which will again lead to disastrous consequences πŸ˜†

I know ppl are gonna kill me for this but i don think Raman can ever love Ishita the way he loved Shagun..By love here , i mean the 'blind, obsessive, self-destructive love' Raman felt for Shagun..And i do think Ishita is better off without that πŸ˜† Anyways, my point is i loved how the writers have highlighted all these flaws in Raman's character..He is not a bad guy..He is just an emotionally vulnerable man who cannot differentiate between right and wrong when his loved ones are in trouble..I for one am loving this track tbh provided they don go overboard with it..And no, IshRa are not ruined..Ishita will be the first person to understand Raman when the whole scenario unfolds in front of her..She knows how much Raman loves Adi and how much he craves for that one nod of approval from his son..If anything, she'l be upset that he chose to hide it from her and din consider her important enough to discuss such an important issue..

On a parting note, i have to gush about Karan Patel..WHAT AN ACTOR..I'l probably never get tired of saying this but this guy lives Raman and how..His reaction when Shagun reveals she is the one who committed the accident, that shock & disbelief, his helplessness when Adi begs & cries in front him, his expression when he hugged Shagun( i thought he nailed it), his guilt when he gets back home, that self loath & disgust when Ishita goes on & on about how awesome Raman is & how much she trusts him, lashing out at Ruhi & Ishita as a defense mechanism, that utterly lost and ' disgusted with self' expression when Ruhi & Ishita apologize for no fault of theirs & finally breaking down after they leave- Perfection is the word..This guy is amazing..Raman can be a douchebag and yet this guy makes you sympathize with him..Thats exactly what a good actor does to his character πŸ‘ Take a bow KP..

P.S. The only place where Raman went horribly wrong was to call Shagun & consult her about revealing the truth to Ishita πŸ˜† Rely on your own judgment Raman..You know Ishita well enough to decide things for yourself..Why involve others in this? πŸ₯±

P.S.S. Sorry for the long rant..I had to get it out of my system πŸ˜†

Hi rogerrocks...πŸ˜ƒ

I really appreciate you for writing such an amazingly insightful post...You are bang on with your reflection on an enigma called RKB...πŸ€—...

Raman Kumar Bhalla is the most complex and multi-layered fictional character I have ever seen on tellywood as of late...As you have rightly pointed out, this man has such an amalgam of emotions and feelings in him that border on two extremes...most of the times, there is no in-between...be it his caring and funny side, his arrogant and egoistic attitude, or his vulnerable and emotional foolishness...For all the goodness he has in him, he equally has this tendency to hurt the people that love him the most...

Most of the times, he wears a facade of having a well-balanced attitude in his personal and professional lives, and succeeds in his mission more often than not even with his devil-may-care attitude, but when it comes to his son, Adi, he just tends to lose his rational thinking, at least initially, becoming so vulnerable...And, I have always felt that this trait of him is totally in with his character, and I was not surprised to see him doing it once again last week...

At the end of this ongoing accident track, there will definitely be a justification for his sudden change of attitude towards Shagun, and CVs may show RKB mellowing down in his obsession for Adi and do right by Ishitha and her family, like how he made Adi apologize to Ishitha during that school fiasco...As far as I have seen him, he has always been one man who, even after lots of faltering and floundering, has stood up for what is right even if he has to pay a price for it, and I strongly believe he will do so once again in Adi's case also...But, the matter of fact is Adi was, is, and will always be RKB's Achilles' heel...He can't help but give himself to a momentary weakness and lose his sense of what is right and wrong when it comes to his son's flaws and bratty attitude, and that is RKB for you...And I would feel really weird if he does not behave that way...It will definitely take time for him to come out of this so-called love illusion, which he has surrounded himself in...

I am hoping against hope that he will at least soon realize he is heading towards a self-destructing path knowingly or unknowingly, and by doing so, hurting the most important people in his life... I don't want to see him a changed man in one day, and that does not happen in real life, but as far as I am concerned, the realization is what matters the most...the realization that the love for his son has blinded his judgment poorly and become an obstacle in his relationships with others...Once that realization strikes him hard, he will be back on track, I hope, as a good parent to his children, and that is the major change I am desperately waiting to see in him...Once this happens, the rest will soon fall in place, i.e., his complicated relationships with his wife and ex-wife...But, as much as I pity and empathize with him, I really don't want him to be let off the hook easily this time around...He needs to take in the dense head of his that he can't take things for granted in his life anymore...😈...Trusting our awesome YHM CVs to do that job and the fabulous actor Karen Patel to enact all the emotions with such an incredible finesse...

Regarding KP's acting, I can go and on about his acting...It is pure bliss watching him on my TV screen every day...I don't have a great command over Hindi, and most of the times, I have to do with subtitles, but KP is such an awesome actor I can feel and understand what he is going through with all those little nuanced emotions that flit through his face in nanoseconds without the need for any dialogues...If I have to describe his acting in a few words, I would say "no hamming, subtlety at its best"...Kudos to him...πŸ‘

Sorry for such a long rant...😳

Awesome post! πŸ‘ Agree with you totally. And tbh Raman is in a very difficult situation. The truth is he is emotionally vulnerable when it comes to adi. Ha has taken a hasty decision & he knows that he is doing something wrong. He has taken wrong steps before bcoz of adi & it is nothing new. He is definitely not out of character.
Even I am among the few who is loving the episides currently. πŸ˜†

Thank you 😳 Raman is such a flawed character..Flawed yet realistic..He is definitely not your ideal husband material πŸ˜† Yet Karan plays the character so convincingly that you cant help but feel sorry for him..And i love the way he cries man πŸ˜³πŸ˜†

Great post! I don't know about others but I too feel that Raman will never be able to love Ishita in the same way he loved Shagun. Shagun was his weakness and Ishita is his strength. This can also be attributed to the foundations of both his relationships. With Shagun it was more of a one-sided mania. With Ishita it's first about understanding, friendship, trust and then love. It's sorted and mature and will last long😊.

You know i was discussing this with a friend of mine..If the Param fiasco had happened when Raman was still married to Shagun i.e if Param had misbehaved with Shagun, Raman would have murdered him right there and not waited for proof πŸ˜† In this case, he trusted Ishita but was worried about his sister's life so he waited for adequate proof..But whemn it came to Shagun, everything else blurred into oblivion πŸ˜† Thats how much he was obsessed with her..Which is unhealthy IMO πŸ˜†

πŸ˜† Yeah like Federer loses the battle in his head and there is no need for Rafa to beat him cos its just a formality πŸ˜†

Anyways, i agree..Raman is self-destructive when it comes to Adi..
