Hey thanks TM ur post is urging me to read the novel Custody which i really bought around one and half months back. After reading i will compare the picturisation of Raman ckt from both the Kapoor's POV. Rushing to read Custody now.

If Raman loves Ishita the same way as he did Shagun, then he hasnt grown/learnt anything at all. So for his sake I expect him to love Ishita in a different but better way.
KP acting is definitely top notch, thats what causes furore. Some identify with Raman and some Hate what he is doing. We wouldnt have been so flared up otherwise :)
My problem with the last couple of episodes is not Raman's blind love for Adi. I knew that would remain for some time, and Ishita knows that too. BUT in the recent past, the CVs have shown us a side of Raman that is getting closer to Ishita, respecting her as an equal. Raman's actions now have done a 180 degree flip-over
Yes, he feels guilty for hiding everything from Ishita, but what was the point of the heart to heart conversations they have had?
I knew Raman is flawed, heck thats why I like him in the first place, but whats the point in wasting the growth they have shown in his character? And he brought in Shagun between him and Ishita by talking about Ishita with Shagun. That action is entirely strange to me
About Adi versus Ruhi: i think sub-consciously Raman equates happy parenthood with Aditya and heartbreak with Ruhi. That may explain why he is shown to be 'mad' for Adi. He loves both for sure. Without love he wouldnt take his frustration out on Ruhi either. But like Shagun and Ishita, his love for his two kids is of different flavours. I hope I made sense
And finally, thank you for making this post. An oasis in the harsh heat wave that seems to have hit us lately!
Great post Roger..(sorry I'm terrible with names, but I vaguely remember it as Ranjani, sorry if I'm wrong ha😆)...Anyway, great to see you here too, we have met in Vicky's posts in JA forum...
Perfect post...Raman's love for Shagun was too blind to see her faults, it was just giving in to everything she ever wanted..to the extent of obsession..And I hope that's not how his love for Ishita becomes...and Ishita doesn't expect that kind of love either I guess..I want IshRa's love to be much better!😳As for Adi..again an obsession which has never been the case with Ruhi...and you've explained this part too well..!!
I have been thinking of Ramans love for Shagun. Maybe I missed something as didn't start watching the show until march but I don't think we know the history of that relationship i.e. how did that relationship start? was it a love marriage (as Raman had said to ishita that college main he was soo shy he had not had a relationship)
Sounds to me like it was arranged marriage and maybe Ramans first encounter of relationships...Shagun is beautiful so maybe it was a relationship based on veerry strong physical attraction which can sometimes be interpreted as I am so in love'. Hence the love he felt for her was the 'blind, obsessive, self-destructive love' which to me in not the true, pure and passionate love i.e. the ishkwala junoon wala love type. The Rab ne baa di Jodi wala love... where ek ko chot puchti hai or dusre ko dard hota hai... where ek dur hota hai to duja pant pehna bhul jata hai...Jo ek ke dil mein hota hai, the other ko pata chalta hai.. They are sooo aware of each other that when one enters a room, the other knows... that wala connect...and after all that, there is also physical attraction that its sone pe suhaga. It's the mental and the physical that Ishita and Raman have which Shagun and Raman NEVER had. When Adi was ill and Ishita and Raman were chatting away on the phone Shagun even said har ek baat batane ke zaroorat hai which obviously states to me that when Shagun and Raman were together they did not talk about everything? . I think Raman's love (or whatever you call it) for Shagun turned to obsession and anger after the betrayal as he lost Adi and then his ego was probably hurt...
In that marriage Shagun's love can never have been true as her true love was and is money, glamour society...
