The only thing I can think of is if that 'date' is genuinely important, and he feels guilty for forgetting it. Then he will be angry/guilty/ashamed and he may take it out on Ishita. He will subconsciously channel his negativity towards the one person he knows will be able to take it, and he sees her as a part of his own soul. And honestly, that will also be a stepping stone for their relationship.

He will obviously feel guilty, but i dont think he will need Ruhi to manaaofy her...
