Btw, because it doesn't then so be it plenty of other shows to watch

. It just goes to show that she was in a emotional state but more then that it shows her old school mentality and how the older generation still hold on to some traditional and an old outdated concept, when people are emotional things are said when it wouldn't be said when they are in a right state of mind it reveals and reflects their character. that kind of boys are heirs mentality would be stuck with toshi as it's ingrained in her and it in fact does reflect her character and that of many older generation people. who might not even be bad people or do do bad things or force anything onto their children . So I'm fine if the cvs included that only to shows toshis way of thinking. Toshi ji isn't a bad person but very hot tempered and jumps to conclusion but does have a good heart.
And like the above comment completely agree, after all this is a modern show but it's also about showing and displaying social issues still prevalent today.

very well written and totally agree with you...Toshiji is from old school who had such thoughts and slowly things are changing but it will take time for the whole nations mentality to change...!!
But beleive me it will change...!! Let us be the change we want to see in our country..looks like the elections have taken an effect on me..!!

Aw thanks, yeah cause I've come across a lot of older people who are the sweetest but still have some old concept stuck in there head. Even from my family, it's ignorance and it should properly explained to them cause most of might Not understand why it's so bad, or what they even are saying is outdated and some though know what they are saying and they should be properly put in their place. Because they could implement this mentality on younger children and keep carrying it forward. I agree and I edited my post, hope toshi slowly changes.

You know Toshiji raising that boy-girl crap is not surprising. She still thinks in her old ways ... look at her views on Ruhi's schooling and studies 🤢

But what has disappointed me is the fact that neither Raman nor Ishita protested against this vaaris cry.

Ishita has now heard Toshi say this for the 2nd time and I am surprised she still did not react to that. Just coz she cannot conceive, it should not impact her own values & thoughts where she knows that these old school views of differentiating b/w a girl & boy child are just not right.

Ishita seriously disappointed me both these times .

Though YHM is far more progressive than many shows on tv but still I really don't get that rant for a son by toshijee. She always knew Ishu cannot be pregnant then why make an issue over the same thing again and again and make her feel less about herself. And seriously this mentality pathetic.Because from that angle the families who have only daughters probably dont have any heirs. In that sense the iyers hv no heir bcoz they only have daughters.

This show is geared towards raising issues that are beyond your average kitchen politics. Revealing the dirty realities that must be said on a platform like Star Plus is useful. Idealizing the Indian sons ("puttars") must be stopped- and it helps when Toshi-like characters rant on about topics that clearly need to be addressed (thus causing the audiences to be attentive and empowered, reinforcing something that needs to end). YHM goes on to show that older generations still linger on to the son-heir logic and Ruhi will obviously change that.

You have said it so well...excellent!! 👏 👏 One by one we will change this mentality...
As we know Rome was not built in a day...this mentality will change once we empower all the girls...to not be dependent on any one.
we ourselves need to be the change we want to see in our country...!! The more we talk about it the more we will be able to change this perception people have.
StarPlus and our show is making this dialogue possible and we are talking about it...this is a change in the right direction...talli talli 😊 👏 👏 👏

i wes goint to say tht exactly instead she goes inside and cries for what "about not being able to give a waris to her in laws. inst she supporting the minset👎🏼. .. and what if she could get pregnant & gives birth to a daughter? tab kya karenge waris ka ? will she keep giving birth untill a waris is born. 😕😕
And ishita should be the one standing up & telling that all this will leave a wrong impression on ruhi but what does she do go n cry because she cant give a waris.
And raman i seriously dont understand why couldnt hew tell his mom tht ruhi is my waris & so is aditya.
i think toshi should be happy that ishita cant be a mom. isnt she worried about some step motherly treatment for ruhi if ishita has her own biological kid.(though i dont believe she would do that )but this thought can come to anyone. no insteadshe is bothered about herwaris. the truth is that toshi ji has only brought up ruhi as her responsibilty . she is not really concerned for her future or really connect with ruhi. she is more bothered about her son & her grand son

I didn't undeerstand this regressive dialogue either.
1) Aditiya is the "Waaris"
2) Ridculous on Toshiji's Part two grandchildren already and now shes "unhappy" because Ishita can't bear a child?!

this type of regressive nature is everywhere I live. I know too well..First hand experience.

I have one elder sister and I am a women! so aren't we considered the "heirs" absolutely disgusting writing on CV's part!

@ Red -- It appears as if all of the Bhalla's including Raman are more connected to Adi than Ruhi. For Raman, its obvious why --- he never spent time with her for many years, she reminds him of Shagun while Adi was his firstborn who he loved like in a normal family environment for years. But it still does not explain why he cannot stand up to the fact that the difference is not because Adi is a boy and Ruhi a girl.

@ Pink -- You are right ... a person having Toshi's mindset in the normal world would actually be concerned about this point. It does not make a difference in Ishita's love for Ruhi is a different point altogether. Toshi ji should have been insecure about this.'

What I can't understand is why Adi has to live with Bhalla's to be a vaaris??? If she loves him so much, then isn't he anyways her vaaris whereever he lives. Whatta crap 🤢

I am still so upset with Ishita over the whole shit ... much more so than Toshi. It is the duty of education younger generation to show the light on such regressive views. She being one should have questioned Toshi on why Ruhi is not equally important as Adi.
