Do not feed honey to new born!

Many ppl get influenced by Tv serials, pl donot show improper content. It might be a custom to gove honey to new born, but honey is very complex and new born donot hv the capacity to digest it. Infact nothing other than the mothers milk should be given to babies till 6 months. Some ppl hv the tradition of giving sugar water, water etc which is again incorrect.

Be careful on what u show, many ppl just ape it!!

thanks for ur post. please dont feed anything for the babes otherthan mother feed. it cause problem for baby

Nobody feeds them 😆

They just touch baby's mouth with slightest of honey on fingertip 😆 Its too less in quantity to reach to d baby stomach n harm new born's health 😳

Aare they don't feed it! Just a slight touch. That wont affect the baby. It's a valid custom for ages. So don't worry.😛

Just a tip of honey can be dangerous for the baby. Luckily it doesnt have so often, but the chance is there. Found this on internet.

Infants are particularly susceptible to the dangerous properties of these bacteria, and if they get some into their systems, the results can be deadly.

The intestinal tracts of babies are immature. Once botulinum spores enter their systems, they can produce a substance called botulinus toxin. After release, this toxin is absorbed into the blood stream through the intestinal tract.

Only a slightest of honey on fingertip is still harmful to little baby. Here the doctors doesn't allow to give honey or cow's milk to the babies under one year.

I have experienced it, I gave the honey on fingertip to my baby, already one month old. It had a fast reaction and after few minutes she started vomiting and I had to go to the doctor.Then after I never gave honey to her till she was 1 n 1/2 year.

Honey is not good for newborn or under one year old babies...

Honey is not good for newborn or under one year old babies...

you must hv given it inside mouth, on her tongue. I don't know abt ur family / ritual.

But in my family, it was done to my niece ...touch d outer side of lower lip. Then later quickly wash it off within a few sec. That is how at least I've seen d ritual happening at least in my society n circle. & My bro himself is from medical background :) so far I know it harms only reaching in touch with inner organs, not outer skin. 😕

I am so happy to see this post . I was about to make it . Young mothers please do not follow this ritual . Very dangerous one . Honey may contain bacteria .sometimes very dangerous for infants. Infants can digest only Brest milk or formula . Nothing else . Water is after one year of age .

I hope TV is more responsible . This infant has not had any Brest milk yet , just born and they are putting honey in his mouth ?very irresponsible thing to show .
