Good honest post Ronshaan. It has generated a good discussion.
Regardless of whether the hug was the best, passionate etc, your comment in blue caught my attention.
It is interesting to consider what instigated it. Ruhi ke liye? Shagun ke liye? Perhaps. Those would be conscious reasons.
It is fairly well known that most of our actions, reactions, thoughts, words are dictated by our subconscious beliefs, emotions and feelings. Some say it is as much as 95%... Especially in situations where conscious actions or words are hard to understand or rationalize. It is what is beneath the water of the iceberg that reveals more.
While I don't think Raman is in love with Ishita yet, i think the CVs are trying to reveal what is going on in Raman's subconscious buried under his obnoxious conscious behaviour and words. For Ishu, it is for her to realize, she is a woman and just being a mother is not enough and she wants to be loved for herself and as a woman. She wants the intimacy of being a wife that she has given up under the guise of Ruhi Ke Liye. I think Raman's subconscious made him give the hug. His action is expressing what his conscious fear based mind can't fathom and won't allow.
I think the purpose of the hug is for both to become aware that there is more than Ruhi Ke liye. Neither is unaffected by the other - i for one could feel it in both their expressions. Yes the I love you felt cliched and empty because it is not felt yet. Of course it will be while before either are willing to feel safe in admitting it their feelings for each other especially Raman because he has a Major titanic-waala iceberg.
My thoughts for your consideration and feedback.
