CVs should really take this opportunity to create some feeling for them...now they have been together for some months it seems..living in the same room and being so close each and every day...!! it really would be nice to have their story move forward...!!

Interesting question !
I see some pain too. She has been hurt in love before and love is not something that she is expecting from this marriage. She is taken aback at this sudden declaration from Raman. The previous hurt mixed with a rare hope has resurfaced along with some feelings for Raman, which she wishes to deny and doesn't want to acknowledge right now.
