Lets think realistically!
Raman and Ishita got married for Ruhi. Ishita because she loves Ruhi and Raman initially because he wanted Ruhi's custody but deep down he loved his daughter but since he couldn't get past her reminding him of Shagun he was distant towards her. Before their marriage these two hated each other..had absolutely nothing in common. They come together for Ruhi and are still adjusting with each other..she with his cold sarcastic egotistical attitude and he with her lectures which constantly remind him of his own shortcomings.
Agreed, that Ishita is more accommodating, understanding, loving etc than Raman. She has dealt with what life has given her and moved forward whereas Raman has not. He is the eldest in his family with the responsibility of his siblings and parents and Shagun's affair and brainwashing of Adi shattered him to such an extent that he couldn't pick up the pieces nor did his pride allow him to ask help from his family. So he retreated into a shell built this cold wall around his heart and continued to prove to the world ( mostly to the creeps ) that he can make something of himself. In doing so he distanced himself and alienated himself from his entire family including Ruhi and most especially from the loving natured son, husband and father he was! He didn't handle what life dealt him as well as Ishita, obviously.
Him being rude and arrogant and using people to suit his needs is what he knows now. His desire to win over Adi is overshadowing right and wrong and he does know what he did was WRONG. I can understand his desire for Adi and what he forced Ishu to do. Adi is his first born a child born out of love (whether we like it or not when he was born both Shagun and him were in love) and he wants to un-brainwash Adi and get his love before its too late. This is the main reason for him stooping so low today. He KNOWS Ishu will bear anything for Ruhi or at least he believes so but of course she has a breaking point too!
My main purpose in making this post is to state that in my opinion although he says he has fallen from his daughter's eyes today, he actually has fallen in his own eyes. He HIGHLY REGRETS what he has done but he is a torn man..torn between right and wrong, torn between getting his son back before its too late and torn for his daughter and being a good father. Ishu has not become part of his equation because he has not let her come near his heart. But today is definitely a turning point because in order to redeem himself in his daughter's eyes and his own eyes he has to change and make some very very difficult decisions that no parent should have to make - How is going to redeem himself, how is going to realize that Ishu to a certain degree has chipped away at the stone wall built around his heart..that should make for interesting viewership in the coming episodes.
Sorry for the long post but this is my POV from knowing someone who went through what Raman did and had to give up his daughter for his daughter's sake as she was being torn to the point of no return as well as for his own sanity!
