Bala smile to me is because he realizes what Ishu doesn't yet .. that she if falling for her husband and his actions therefore affect her!!!

Raman felt bad but he said in precap he needs to change and guilt will eat away at him because of his daughter initially but you can only say "sirf Ruhi ke liye" to a certain extent!

If he wasn't starting to develop feelings for Ishu even of respect he wouldn't have felt any sort of regret...but lets see what they have in store going forward!!

So its VERY MUCH Convicing for me if Raman bcomes a better father first n then a better husband...And in the process to be better father,he will(indirectly)start behavin in a better cordial manner with Ishu too as he knws there ws NO NEED for Ishu to be sorry to Adi n evn more importantly Shagun...!!
