The Difference b/w Mrs. Bhalla & Mrs. Iyer is Proved Again!

Mrs. Iyer (Madhu) is not only a better mother, but also a better person compared with Mrs. Bhalla (Toshi). And, this is proved again in last episode during the carom match.

When Raman was doing good, Madhu too was happy and was smiling out of joy. On the other hand, when Ishita was doing good, Toshi was making faces, was irritated, let alone clapping for her. That's make the difference again. And, at the end when Raman won, Iyers was extremely happy and clapped joyously, and Toshi jee was acting like Raman defeated the Madrasan. But, she forgets that Madrasan is her daughter-in-law, whereas, Madhu doesn't consider Raman as son-in-law, but as a son.
There are other differences b/w these two. Am not stretching my post, as some of these have been said before too. The main point is : Toshi is a good mother, but an average, Madhu is a better mother and a better person.

Very nice observation, Tanni. Yes, that is the difference. But Madhu also has her angry moments, like when she locked up Toshi in the store room during the lodi celebrations. I do agree that after the wedding, Madhu has mellowed down a lot with the bhallas, but Toshi is yet to let her reserves and prejudices down. Let us see what it takes for Toshi to really accept Ishu as a daughter, as part of her own family, rather than as a glorified nanny for Ruhi.

Thanks for all your great posts!! I agree with you that Mrs. Iyer proves to be the better, more mature and understanding mother.

I like to think. But you know, most fans consider Ishita as a person always against Raman. So, you would find many to think that Ishu lost on purpose.

Toshiji too is going through a major change in her life... Suddenly there is this other person in Ruhi's life in terms of Ishita taking all decisions for her... Decisions which usually only Mrs Bhalla was taking until now... Toshiji is having a hard time accepting this change and Ishita. All this is affecting her behaviour towards Ishita.

Hmm..considering her general character, she dint lose on purpose. But, if she is really trying to improve Raman for Ruhi, then it may be😃.

True. And let's not forget. The last experience she had with a bahu was Shagun and we all know what a disaster that turned out to be. Part of me wonders if both Toshi ji and her husband have changed in regards to their daughter in laws. I think it was shown in a flashback that Toshi ji was really nice to Shagun (I think shagun blamed her for something and toshi ji took it). Whereas her husband wasn't as nice (he got really angry and yelled at shagun for falsely blaming toshi ji I think). And then Shagun ended up leaving their son broken hearted. I'm sure that both of them feel like there was other things they could've done to made Shagun stay/ not cheat. Just like Raman grapples with that fact. That's why maybe Toshi ji has become a lot more strict and suspicious of her new daughter-in-law because niceness made her old one run away and she doesn't want her new one to run away. Whereas its the opposite with her husband in that he's nicer in hopes that she will stay (plus he likes ishu's appa as well so have to be nice to the daughter). But I may just be reaching.

While I'm not a big fan of Toshi ji, I can see where she is coming from in regards to Ishita.
