The film, directed by Manohar Sarvankar, revolves around the journey of a married couple ' both are highly ambitious individuals ' who get affected by unexpected incidents that occur in their lives. Sarvankar says, "The audience will see a new aspect of Eesha as an actor in my film. I was very keen on roping her in ever since I decided on doing this film." Sameer Dharmadhikari plays Eesha's husband in Maat. Another Bollywood connect that the film has is cinematographer Nirmal Jani known for films like Border, Dushman, Pyar To Hona Hi Tha, Zakhm and Toonpur Ka Superhero.
Seems like Bollywood is quite interested in Marathi cinema. Riteish Deshmukh and Akshay Kumar are producing films; Urmila Matondkar did a sizzling item number in Hridaynath; Raveena Tandon Thadani is acting in a Marathi film and now it's Eesha's turn.
