| X Factor's 12 finalists unveiled! | |||
| Sony's biggest singing show X-Factor announced their 12 finalists who will perform at the gala round starting 10th June. The three judges Shreya Ghoshal, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Sonu Nigam will have a team of their own to mentor in the competition. The candidates were screened for their singing talent, attitude and star quality. The teams are divided in three categories, 16 ' 25 year old contestants are in Sonu's team, above 25 years under Shreya Ghoshal and Sanjay's team comprises of individual groups. Team Sonu Nigam SEEMA JHA The 17-year-old tomboy Seema from Delhi thinks that she has an additional X Factor that makes her stand out. She performed on Dilber Dil Se Pyaare on Delhi Auditions and got selected. Her beautiful renditions of songs, has even earned her the title of little Lata from senior industry musicians. Now, she wants her voice to be showcased to the entire country. |
PIYUSH KAPOOR This 20-year-old lad feels that there is no life without music. Piyush's biggest dream is to be a live performer. He leads life on his own terms and this is clearly reflected in his unique music style as well. Piyush truly feels that music speaks what cannot be expressed. | |||
SAHITI G A shy and reticent Hyderabadi girl, 24-year-old Sahiti took a break from software engineering to participate in X Factor. Sahiti's has learnt the basics in Carnatic Music. This extremely versatile and melodic singer has not let anything affect her passion for singing. |
SHOVON GANGULY Shovon Ganguly from Calcutta is a true performer in every sense. Shovon has been learning classical music for the past 12 years. He dreams of becoming a playback singer. Shovon also writes poems in Bengali. Music is an integral part of his life and therefore he decided to participate in X Factor. Shovon is all set to make his presence felt on X Factor and gain recognition for his voice and music. |
Team Shreya MANJEERA GANGULY Manjeera always dreamt of coming to B-Town and making it big in the singing world. As luck would have it, Manjeera got the opportunity to showcase her talent on the X Factor's platform! 25-year-old classical singer from Calcutta, Manjeera came against the wishes of her parents who wanted her to pursue a career in medicine. Once Manjeera moved base to Mumbai to try and make her singing debut in Bollywood, there was no looking back for her. Extremely focused and dedicated, music is her breath and soul. Dreaming of that big break that will elevate her, she feels that her strength lies in being a complete performer with great stage presence and good entertainment value. | |||
GEET SAGAR This 27-year-old event manager from Gwalior has been very passionate about singing ever since he was a kid. Geet is an ardent music lover and has always been connected with music. Geet started his career as a Radio Jockey for Lemon 91.1 FM before and had to give up due to health issues. Geet feels that X-Factor offers aspirants like him the opportunity to showcase their talent to the billions of viewers. |
AMIT JADHAV Amit Jadhav is a 30 year old professional singer from Mumbai. An all-out performer, he always has the audience on his side. Having dabbled in singing, acting and dancing, he feels he has what it takes to be the next X Factor. According to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Amit is a born performer. Amit gave a flawless performance at Lucknow Auditions and then got selected at the boot camp in Mumbai. Amit always had the burning ambition to be a part of the wondrous world of music. |
Team Sanjay Leela Bhansali LAST MINUTE Last Minute group has 8 students from Pratt Memorial School, Kolkata, who have been part of their school choir. They wanted to step beyond the boundaries of their school and hence decided to participate in X Factor. | |||
NIRMITEE As their name Nirmitee suggests, this group of four believe strongly in creating their own brand of music. Constantly innovating and harmonising has got 21-year-old Siddharth, 23-year-old Vian, 20-year-old Pranil and 21-year-old Ranjana this far in the competition. Students of Mumbai University, their sole aim is to make good music and make their families and college proud. | |||
SAJADA This group of three consists of 2 aunts and their niece: 40-year-old Anit, 36-year-old Rekha and 20-year-old Shivranjini. Singing has always run in their household in Valsad, and so these women decided to take the mantle and showcase their singing talent to the whole country. Without any vocal training, they have managed to reach this far in the competition. |
DEEWANE A local music group from Ratlam, Rajasthan, they have struggled hard all their lives in their pursuit of music. Having done innumerable local shows, now they feel it's time for them to establish themselves successfully in the big, dream city of Mumbai. |
