brother at the door of their beach house. According to her plan, she had
sent Michael to talk to Veronica and convince her to go out for dinner that
night.
"Well... I tried my best..." began Michael.
"And?!"
"And... I talked to her...."
"And?!"
"And..."
"Michael hurry up or I will bruise you!" said an impatient Meg.
"Alright! Alright! She said she'll come!" said Michael hurriedly.
"You've seriously got issues Meg." he mumbled as he walked away from
her.
"Oh my god! She agreed?! You're the best Michael! Thank you!!"
"It's no biggie sis." replied Michael, feeling his face turn red.
"Michael, are u b-b-blushing?!" asked Meg, trying hard to suppress
her laughter.
"Wha -- No! Of course not!" answered Michael, a little too
defensively.
"Oh c'mon Michael, everyone knows you've had a thing for Ronnie
since we were freshmen."
"No I didn't! Who told you that?!"
"It's a little obvious you know. I mean, you're always talking about
her and you're always looking for ways to make her feel better."
"She's my friend. Is it wrong for me to care?"
"I'm not stupid Michael. There's a fine line between friendship and
something else."
Michael knew that Meg had finally caught him. There was no
denying it now. "Is it really that obvious sis?"
"Aha! So you really do have feelings for her. Are you gonna tell her?"
"Have you lost it?! What am I gonna say?! 'Hey Ronnie! I know you're
still upset over the whole Mark thing but you should just forget that and
move on. Oh and by the way, I kinda have feelings for you.' Do you know
how stupid that's gonna sound?"
"So what are you gonna do?"
"I don't know! Wait until she's better I guess. I mean, there's nothing
else I can do right?"
"I s'ppose."
"You can't tell anyone sis! Especially not Ronnie. I need to wait for
the right time."
"My lips are sealed bro! Don't worry. Your secret's safe with me."
