e su! im taking the story slowly cos i have no plans for it... this is my FIRST write-wht-pops-in-ur-mind story... nd i was planning on d campaigning starting in the nxt chappy ... i wrote it also damn d file thingie...[:X]

okok i just typed out part 10a... cos the other i still have to remember what i wrote :-< but very well here

PART 10a

David was still standing at the doorway to the bathroom, unable to register what had just happened. He had seen his sister doing the laundry, his sister had a smile on the face, something that was very rare since his father had passed away and Bertha had called! He groaned loudly at the last turn of events. She was one person he never wanted to see EVER! Whatever could she want now? But right now he was more curious about his sister.

Alex was humming the tune of Shakira's 'Hips Don't Lie' as the song filtered to her from the computer speakers. She had never felt so light before… at least not since her father had remarried… And after so long, it felt nice to be liked by somebody for who you were… sure her brother liked her, but she could tell he didn't like most of the things she did… it had made her feel like he was putting up with her…

But he was not like that… no he wasn't… he had liked her even before she had looked hot and all…

She was disturbed from her reverie by a curt knock on her door. She looked up startled, to see that she had hardly done any of her homework. She sighed. She would have to call Hilly and ask her to dictate the answers over the phone. Again. She looked in the direction of the door, not bothering to move her hair from her eyes and lazily muttered a 'come in'.

"Hey squirt…" She scrunched her eyes and peered through her hair, hoping David saw her expression. He had stopped calling her squirt when… uhmm… a long time ago.

"What?" she drawled lazily.

"Dunno… just wanted to have a talk.. a heart to heart brother sister talk with you…" he said, walking in what he attempted to be a casual style, with his hands in his pocket.

"Do you want me to scare Bertha off?" she asked, not at all fooled by her brother's, er, attempts at casualness.

"No… all though it will be useful…" he added thoughtfully, "No!" he said, remembering the real reason he came over, "I actually… uhmm…"

"Seriously David, speak slower!" she said sarcastically, "I have homework to do you know!" and at this David's eyes popped open and he thought he felt a little dizzy. Alex? Worried about homework? Man had it been a tiring day! He was hearing voices… Alex probably sensed his confusion and started to laugh.

"Like you'd believe that!" she said, "tell me what's up!"

"Well… I…" suddenly the phone rang and Alex picked up the extension in her room.

"Hello?... Kevin…" and David's sharp ears caught the tone. It wasn't the tone she used with Kevin normally. This one sounded different, a very subtle difference that would have been hard to spot. Her generally matter-of-fact, sarcastic tone had a slight bashful side to it… David raised an eyebrow as he turned his head away from Alex.

"You were saying, David?" David turned back to face Alex, who had finished talking. His shrewd eyes noticed the faint flush of her cheeks.

"Nothing…" he muttered, "nothing…" He had gotten his answer. Not bothering to acknowledge Alex's look of slight puzzlement, he closed the door behind him. Outside, he leaned against the wall with a very cocky look on his face, his eyebrow raised once again.

"Kevin Taylor…" he muttered, dragging the name as he said it, "and Alex… hmmm…" and muttering to himself as he walked away, "Gotta have a talk with Kevin, and FAST!"
