I am intrigued about who the murderer is. And Mrs. Oakwood... she seems fishy... I loved this! I am looking forward to the next update. So please update soon <3

Unreswa!

Mahi, this is amazing, and I could readily visualise the duo of RDJ-Jude in this. Not just them, I think Ben and Martin too, but I have that one notch higher fondness for Jude Law as Watson! 😆
Anyway, that aside, I love how, from the word go, you've started the mystery, the whole set up, the scenario, and a manner that only Sherlock could have! I can't wait for the next part! Do give it to us, soon! 😳

Thanks a lot Shre!😳

Phew, here's the end to the mystery!

Part II

"Invariably, Mrs. Oakwood has dressed up as an old Mrs. Scott to divert attention from her. I believe that McCalister Oakwood must've poisoned her lover since he had an excellent knowledge of drugs. And with both the men out of her reach, Margarite Oakwood settled as old and feeble Mrs. Scott. She might've bothered him for money to renovate her flat hence he transfered this huge amount to her bank account."

"Quite possible", I remarked.
"But how does she have her part in his murder?", asked Lestrade.
"I'm afraid she doesn't", whispered Holmes.

The next day, we set out again to the apartment. This time, we stopped a floor below to pay a visit to the parents of McCalister.

Holmes, yet again knocked on the door which was answered by a Butler.

The flat looked lavish and intricately furnished, quite the opposite to what we saw yesterday.

"Ah, Mr. Holmes", greeted the old father. "Glad to meet you"
"The feeling is mutual", he replied while his eyes hunting for something else.

"It was quite unfortunate", he remarked.
"But deserved", came a shrill female voice. It was the old man's wife and the deceased's mother.

I was considerably shocked. No mother could possibly wish to see her son die.

"He was a filthy greedy brat who couldn't handle his wife, did wrong things all his life and had eyes on..."
"Oh shut up woman!", screeched Mr. Oakwood. "Seal your damn mouth for God's sake!", he shouted, wielding his heavy stick in a move to hit her.

"Trying to kill me as always, eh? And he is Your son", she spewed calmly.

The Butler escorted her back to her room on the instruction by Mr. Oakwood.

"His step Mom", he sighed. "Always felt that he had his eye on her property"

Holmes signalled Lestrade.
"Erm, we'd like to search through your house", said he, politely.

The old man nodded and left inside.

Homles went around strolling in the balcony. It was situated exactly below the verandah of the apartment above. And just below it was tied the net, where the body was extracted from.

"Holmes", I exclaimed. "Have a look"
I showed to him some interesting prescriptions I found in a file. Mr. Oakwood was a patient of high blood pressure and unstable mind. In short, an average case of short temperness.
He cocked his head to a side.

"A gun here", remarked Lestrade. Holmes jumped and took away it, into his hands.

"The murder weapon", he smiled.

I grasped it and murmurmed, "Is it his mother then?"

"Let's see"

He keenly observed the gun. After about an hour of moving from one place to other and pointing the gun to various directions, he nervously started laughing.

"My goodness! Oh my goodness! Call the butler!"

"Who loaded this gun last?"

"If I'm not wrong, the gun was last loaded by the late master Oakwood", he said after a bit of recalling. "He loaded it the day before yesterday maybe an hour before his death"

"Okay go"

He sighed deeply after this. "I'm afraid you cannot find the murderer", he told Lestrade. Because it was a suicide.

"Care to explain, Holmes?", I shrieked, raising my brows.

"It so happened that old Mr. Oakwood has an old habit of losing his temper and threatening his wife with an unloaded gun. For the study of this him tells me how its been frequently used without bullets. See this trigger blade here? Its so loose. And McCalister did have his eye after his step mom's property. So I believe he loaded the gun the day before, so that his father actually shot her in his attempt to scare her. But as fate would have it, he decided to jump off his terrace the same day. And look at the horrendous coincidence here, Mr. Oakwood pulled the trigger, the bullet missed his wife, flew out of the window and hit him, who'd jumped off at that same instant. He wouldn't have died otherwise for there was a safety net hanging down. Fate, dear Watson, its all the fate"
