Like Vikas Gupta said it's the channel's decision eventually so there is only this much that he can do. He is no longer the content head of the channel so he doesn't have that much of an influence like he had earlier.

Doesn't mean he is not responsible for the mess, there were many things he could have done as producer but he didn't.
