Hello everyone! 😃
I'm Shelly, in case you don't know me (as there are a lot of KY2 members here). 😆
I thought that instead of making a separate post for introducing myself, let me just get on with it in this post itself which I've made to discuss the little/big things that has struck me.
I initially found the show quite boring TBH, not to mention the names of the characters being VERY distracting! 😆 I was kinda waiting impatiently for the track to shift focus on the school and it's students.
Let me tell you why...
For some weird reason, I could not warm up to the orphan trio- Siyali, Utkarsh and Niti. I find Utkarsh to be a bit tooo overdependent on Siyali and Niti ain't that invested in Siyali. Siyali is always thinking about them and went to the extent of sacrificing her spot in WH for her good-for-nothing friend (reminds you of anyone?? 😆). I'm not sure if this was an impulsive decision or well thought of as it's not like she has no idea of the standards of WH.
It was clearly not needed and somehow, this made Siyali the character lose some brownie points within the first few episodes itself. 🤔
Utkarsh- well...he legit irritates me! What with all that pessimism and low self-esteem worthy of Ronald Weasley! I C.A.N.N.O.T tolerate characters like him. Period.
Niti- I'm yet to figure out what goes on in her head. But I gotta give this girl for not behaving like a loser despite being humiliated SO badly!
Now, about the angry young boy- Parth. I'm sure many of you are already NOT liking this Parth-Veebha angle, trust me, I'm one of them. 😆
But if I have to explain it psychologically, here's what I've deducted.
Parth reminds me of my own brother a lot. Most of my brother's growing up years were spent with me and mother. As my dad had a transferable job back then, he was absent during my brother's teenage years- a time when kids need their parents the most- both of them! And him being a hot-head didn't help things either.
A mother alone is not enough, especially for a boy in his teens. Over-dependence on one parent doesn't come off as healthy in any case. I remember how my brother used to come home and we would tease him about girls and he'll say things like "that girl is nice...but not like my mom" or "that girl is pretty...but not like my sister" with a straight face.
It wasn't until he went away for high school and started living and thinking like a normal boy of his age would.
In Parth's case, his step-father has little to no role in his life. He too is overdependent on his mother and has lived with her all his life. Boys like him take a lot of time to view the world like other boys do. May be he is seeing Veebha as the closest thing to the mother he didn't want to leave? It's too early to judge I know and it's also early to term this 'thing' that he feels as anything close to 'romantic'.
It's nothing new for boys or girls to have a crush on their teachers, it's just Parth's scarred BG which makes it a lot more intense than a mere 'crush'...and that's what we find it unsettling.
Sid the kid- Probably one of the sweetest characters I've seen in a long, long time! 😳 He is one person who took me back to my good ol' DMG days! He is such a bundle of energy and sunshine- you can't help but grin when he's on screen!
The whole time I was watching him, I noticed that he wasn't still for one waking moment! 😆 Always jumping and prancing, sitting on a random dude's lap, doing an SRK in front of a moving car and what not! 😆
A playboy and a rich one at that but look at the way he treats people! That's another thing that clicks for the character- he's cliche all right, but not completely. 😳
