Or probably the word sounds really weird when used on a guy because no guy has ever been described as a virgin in the scores of books I read.
But that could be because they aren't 🤣

Yeah, because virgin used to mean unmarried then and most people assumed that unmarried = never had sex. Literature uses the archaic virgin so that's why you've never seen it to describe a guy; it meant unmarried woman rather than unmarried person. Bachelor was used to describe unmarried man. However, if you're referring to modern literature, I'm surprised. I've read many books that describe a man as a virgin. Mind you, these days, there are very few adult/teen virgins of either sex. It's used more as a derogatory term nowadays. |

No. Snapping your hymen is losing your maidenhood. Virginity is a unisex term. The Oxford dictionary clearly has 'person who has never had sexual intercourse' as its primary definition. In the past, the word virgin meant unmarried woman and maid was used to describe a woman who'd never had sex. Now, like I said, virginity is a unisex term.

The hymen is a membrane that surrounds or partially covers the external vaginal opening. It forms part of the vulva, or external genitalia, and is similar in structure to the vagina.
PS - I think it's a good idea to google for anything you don't know :)
