It's heavily implied because Harjeet was shown pointing the rifle at him and then he was just dead. Some point after the seven year leap, someone mentioned something about Harjeet killing his own father. I think it was Swaroop.

Amba believed that Jagan killed Charan although everyone says the Bajwas did.

Harjeet didn't shot his father he , hit him with the gun. And at the time he was not well, and doctor had told him to rest but he ran to stop harjeet and that's when all this happened.
