Waar Parivar seems to be Sony's answer to Zee's Rock and Roll Family. However, while the latter show was entertaining, the former concept, which has family members singing together appears to be a bit of a contrived effort. Not every member in a family is gifted with a talent for singing. Except for noted singer Ram Shankar and his family, who have been performing at concerts across the country, the rest of parivars were relatively off-key. Even Urmila's anchoring skills can do little to pep up this show, where the emphasis seems to be on melodramatics as opposed to families singing together.
