As Vasu is choking, Vedika exclaims triumphantly that she was right. But Vasu gathers herself and says it was only a grain of rice stuck in her throat. She goes to her room while Vedant rebukes Vedika for spoiling even this auspicious day.
When Vasudha reaches her room, she coughs and finds blood coming out. Horrified, she understands everything. When Sandhya comes to apologise for the trouble, she tells her to respect Vedika as much as she respects her and to win her heart. Then she goes and searches Vedika' room; the dustbin, she finds the bottle of poison.
She confronts Vedika outside DRS's study and shows her the bottle, saying Vedika's hatred has grown so much that even the large house couldn't hold it. Ved retorts that this hatred would never lessen, it could only grow. Vasu says it could have ended, had she added a little more poison. Opening the bottle, she drinks the entire poison. A horrified Vedika screams that if she thought she was going to rescue her, she was wrong. Their father always gave her more importance and even then she killed him. Vasu gasps that she did not kill him. Ved demands, "Then who did?" Vasu says, "If I did not tell you while I was alive, why should I tell you while dying?" She collapses. Vedant comes rushing over and screams at Vedika; then he calls Sushant and tells him.
They rush Vasu to the hospital only to be told that since it's a case of suicide, they have to register an FIR first. They take her to another hospital whose doctor Sushant knows. She is wheeled into the ICU while the 2 distraught men watch. Sushant phones Vikram to come over as quickly as possible because Vasudha…..but is too overcome by emotion to speak further. The doctor comes and says she is very critical.
Vedika is sulking in the study. Sandhya enters demanding why has she not understood Vasu's loving heart till now? Ved asks her to get lost, and she leaves saying one day she will understand Vasudha.
Vikram arrives and tries to console Sushant and Vedant. They peer miserably at Vasu through the glass of the ICU door.
Sushant enters the mansion angrily. Vedika coolly asks him to sit down, showing him Vasudha's obituary which she has prepared for the next day's newspaper. Sushant angrily grabs her arm shouting at her to at least show a little humanity. Vedant enters, saying that Vedika is not human at all as even animals' hearts would feel at such a juncture. Then Vikram makes his entry saying that Vedika Rai Singhania has no heart, and he made a big mistake in falling in love with her. Sandhya adds her bit saying that Vasu asked her to respect Vedika like she respected her. They all leave, while Vedika grapples with her conscience.
Later at night, the door opens, light streams in, and Vasu enters dressed in white. Vedika is petrified. Vasu says,you killed me, but what was the use? Every relationship left her—Vikram, Vedant—and now she has no one to live for. Vedika shrieks that she wants to live alone but Vasu laughs slightly and says she needs to understand (don't recall the exact words). Vedika is left staring in horror at the apparition.
Preview: A distraught Sushant is kneeling by Vasu and begging her to come back for his sake. Her breath grows stronger.
