Maybe DB is the actual perpetrator of the 2003 scandal and Prem took the fall for him...

You mean DB got Avni pregnant? Loving it. And may be part 2 of it, he never got her abortion and the kid is being raised in secrecy, he wants his illegitimate son/daughter to become a CEO

This makes more sense too cause he was controlling his desires for way too long that one day he was like screw it and succumbed to his desires....but why am i feeling bad after writing this theory?

To be honest they have still not explained why he never married in the first place.

Could be a Bheeshm like reason but seems too unrealistic since he is not that selfless

I think that read wrong. I don't mean DB is selfish, I meant is that he isnt someone who is doing everything without any outcome. He takes his duties most seriously but is also strong enough to have his rights.

I mean Bheeshm personally never took a position for himself, here he is the Chairman. Bheeshm advised as the elder of family but never as some position holder/decision maker, here he officiates the decisions. I dont think that he would have taken a vow like Bheeshm to never marry.

I instead feel it was more like at the time of his father's death their business wasn't doing great and PDS were kids so he being a young adult took into himself and never got married, by the time everything was sorted he was well past his marriage age. Or else he actually loved a girl but couldn't marry her to look after the family, and she got married someone else.

I really dont see a Bheeshm like vow in here

Yeah a Bheesm like vow sounds so stupid and melodramatic in this time and age...

Nah Satyawati was right that time....he could forsake the throne for his dad's happiness but why would his kids do the same? Even if he had married and had kids and taught them to never think of attaining the throne his kids would've been power hungery like the other generations as well....half of them might've gone to Pandavas side and half would've sworn allegiance to Kauravas in the war ( assuming this version of MB happened in a parallel universe where Shantanu married Satyawati and had C and V and they died so another V came and had kids with A and A and D ,P and V were born and Bheeshma had kids as well)....if not he should've atleast listened to Satyawati when she wanted him to marry A and A....he would've sired a bunch of diff kids and MB wouldn't have happened...that's what i hate about MB , people like Bhishma and Drona could've put a stop to anything but didn't....also is the story of Varchas present in the BORI version pdf?

I don't think that is a major thing. Think of it if that was the case then any king with more than one son will have that problem with their grandchildren, starting from Yayati, he made Puru inherit not the sons of his legally wedded wife, there were controversies but if went through. Forget that had Chitrangad had some kids before his death and then Vichitraveer had before his, their children could have had these fights. Had few kids of Nakul/Sahdev survived the war, they might have become power hungry against Parikshit. Such chances are always there. P.S. it wasnt Satyavati but her adoptive father who made this clause causing Bheeshm to take the vow, and in my opinion he was becoming way too selfish and just exploiting the situation in hand

About second point, I dont think so. Even if Bheeshm married Ambika and Ambalika and they had say D2 and P2 from Bheeshm why do you think they or their children wouldnt have had the same differences as Dhritrashtra and Pandu? Everything still remains same except that they would be children of Bheeshm and not Kshetraj of Vichitraveer. Drona I think hardly had a say so he I don't think could have done much.

I think you meant Vachans, Bheeshm Vachan to quit any claim on throne and not marrying/having children is there in Mahabharat (BORI included), but the second one in which he supposedly says that he will always remain loyal to the throne is completely a B.R. Chopra intervention. I guess they wanted to justify and bring in some reasons for Bheeshm (who was the hero in their show and MB was presented from his perspective) to side with Kauravas
