Quote of the day: Ennime nimathiya santhoshama irungga - Vani to Selvi and Rajesh. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!🤣 I laughed. Vani Madam, how can? If everyone was happy ever after, no serial, no story. If nimmathi comes to Vani Rani, that is the end of the serial. 😃

Although I have not been impressed with Mano before, because of his inconsistent treatment of Jyothi and his failure to stand up to her and her mother, he redeemed himself today by stopping the so-called marriage talks by making it clear that he needs to consult his daughter first.

When Balu says Karthik sathichitaan, I was really mad. Enna sathichitaan? Padichu graduate panithana? Cancerrukku cure kandupidichitanna? The next Sachin Tendulkarra ayithanna? Please, Vani Rani team, could you tell your storywriter not to do suicide plots anymore?? We don't want that type of stories please. Shenba suicide oda athey niritirikkunum. Ithu ellam negative na. Rathnam na and Suku sir, please konjam karuthey consider pannunga.

Looking at Anaconda Sr and Jr, I felt like vomiting at their drama and pretence. A couple of greedy women who should be taught a lesson. Anaconda Sr hasn't changed - still having the arrogance to think that they know best for their children. 😡 Girija, where are you???? 😈

P/S Vera veedu pol irukku?? Appha, yellow-green - what a combination. Konjam red iruntha, pachaikilli inspiration nu sollalam. 😉

Enjoyed the scene in Vani's office. I think one of the nicer minor characters in Vani Rani is Point (Joker Thulasi). Does not overdo his role. Good to have a a supporting character like that who can say things that the main characters cannot say. The interaction between Vani, Selvi and Rajesh was really lovely to watch. After all the fights, nasty dialogues and irritating characters, it was refreshing to see scenes like this. Listening to what Selvi had to say to Vani, it seems to me that the girls in Rani's family are the sensible ones. The two men, Swamy and Sara are complete aSSes (SS = Swamy and Sara. Please don't be offended. Just joking to make a point 😆)

Don't have to say anything about Maha Lakshmi's acting. It w as superb. Whether sad or angry or outspoken, her facial expressions - eyes, curling of the lip in contempt and her gestures - spoke a thousand words. ⭐️I clapped when she bashed Anaconda Senior and Junior. They really must think that Poongodi and Mano are stupid to believe their change of hearts. I loved it when Poongodi asked her mother whether she had sacrificed anything in her life. As usual. Anaconda Paati thinks she knows everything. Really fed-up with her attitude that they know best for their children. Girija, where are you?

Deviii - don't do it!! Don't listen to your friend. Anyone who colours his hair to match his shirt cannot be trusted. 😉 😆 Wait n c???😉

I really did not like the Karthik and Poongodi scene. Karthik is arrogant and disrespectful. It is one-sided love. (Ask Poongodi how to pronounce "Love", Karthik. It is "love" not "lawu") He is so bloody cocky, telling Poongodi all the positives...enga ponuchu intha yosanai tharkolai muyarchi panna pothu? A girl says she does not want you and you still sutturan her? And how could he lie to his grandfather and mother??? Sheer lies. Oruthan poi satiyam seiyuran, onnoruthan pacha poi soluran....unless he is now becoming psycho, crazy, mad??

Ya, naan solution tharan ya. Poongodikku Saravananum vendam karthikkum vendam - pesame Gauthamme fix panni vithudunga!! 👏

Intha konfused kathal kathaiye sikirram mudichidunga na. Pleaseee...

Raadhika madam rocked as Rani today . I love her innocence but she is not stupid and that is what I like about Rani's character. Just loved her today...she gave Swamy nicely with her barbed comment (reminds me how she was at Vani's office - I was laughing. The look on Swamy's face was priceless. So lovely to see scenes like these. It was really nice, we miss them. Lovely to see Prithivee Raj giving sincere smile - hahaha, I am still laughing when I think of his face. It was a pleasure. ON Rathnam Suku Kochappan sirs, we miss moments like these. Sari, Suryavukku make over panithinge, eppa Swamy kku? Prithivee yin super figure eh parthu raasikinum... ;)

Welcome back Rani's cooking tips!! ( Oru ragisiyam sollutha - I tried the honey and ginger with warm water mix - but could only do it for thirty days. LOL)

Pothuva intha episode super-a iruntha karanam Raniyin character naala than. Mano deserves a special mention. Also the scene with Sundari and Shenvi was hilarious. Jeika pirantha singari!! Hahaha, very poetic.

Kali going to come back ah? More problems for Selvi, Rajesh and Sundari??

Episode 282

OK, I am going to be unpopular here but I loved this episode (with the exception of the Gruesome Foursome - Jyothi, Anaconda, Mano and Karthik).

I liked the way Swamy handled Sara, with love, sympathy and reluctance to tell him the truth. But on the other hand, I hated Mano and Jyothi, especially Mano, the spineless coward traitor.

The scene where Saravanan rushes in whilst Karthik ties the thali around Poongodi's neck was just awesome. The spine-tingling chants and then followed by the brilliant bgm played through nadeswaram, the slow motion of the camera, the delight on everyone's faces except Poongodi's...the way Poongodi closes her eyes when Karthik ties the thali around her neck - silently and painfully accepting her fate - really, I applaud the director for being able to get so much emotion in one scene with all these little touches.👏 For the first time, I felt sorry for Sara as he wept. Too little, too late. Maha Lakshmi was fabulous. Her expressionless face, except at one point when she looked she was going to cry and when she closed her eyes. I hated Karthik smirking away.

Once again the old witch made me 😡...does she ever stop being nasty? She wants to go to Thiruchendur. Can she please stay there? Girija, where are you?

First we had Swami and Saro change from nice guys into nasty ones. Now it is Mano's turn.

MOM says ethana kodi koodathulum intha santhosham kidaikkathu? How about 25?

Again Maha is superb. The look of dislike she gives Jyoti when Jyo is feeding her spoke volumes.

👏 👏 for Poongodi for dealing with Mano and Jyoti. Seruppu adi for both of them...I think Mano realised that in his attempt to keep his father, he may have lost his daughter. Jyo is a hypocrite, she only agreed to Karthik because of the money and now she is saying that she is concerned about her.

Dialogue of the day: Avan mela enakku kathallum varathu, oon mela enakku pasamamum varathu.

Very curious to see where this is now going.

Episode 342

I enjoyed 342. Although not as thrilling as 333-334, I think this episode had some good points. 340 and 341 were a bit slow but things have to be slow before they pick up. Ellame speed ah pona crash than nadakkum.

I liked the segment in the room between Poongodi and Karthik. As far as I am concerned, Mahalakshmi really nailed the scene especially at the end when she cries. I dont know how she did it but I could sense her... pain, agony and dilemma. Now she is really stuck. In love with one person so deeply that she is willing to do anything to get him back. Thought she would hate Karthik but he has been showing care and compassion for her. When someone does that for another person who is hurting, the compassion is like a balm to a wound. That question Karthik asks - did she cry at the loss of the thali or the gold - was superbly provocative. All kinds of thoughts are going through her head. Maha did a brilliant job of showing her conflicting emotions. MAHA LAKSHMI...I LOVE YOU DA!!! Hehehe.

I am beginning to like Karthik. Rajkumar, good work da. The questions Poongodi asked are the same things that I was asking. Who would have thought the arrogant, spoilt, annoying brat woul turn into a caring, compassionate young man? Again, Rajkumar did a fabulous job showing conflicting emotions. He loves Poongodi and he is willing to do anything to make her happy at his own expense. I am now warming up to the idea of Karthik and Poongodi ( my best friend will be so happy - meet pannunale pothum, ore argument than because she thinks Karthik is great and Poongodi does not deserve him). Enna onu..antha SKK (suniya kaari kilavi) and her daughter jejuthanga nu oru irritation.

I like Manikam now. You see, every serial has a lot of villains and villis, people who badmouth, doing disgusting things. Kevalamana plots. But directors do not realise that it is an overdose that viewers cannot take. At the same time, when there are good characters, makkal will feel nice. Nallavungallum irukanga nu oru positive feeling. I think you all also expressed that point through Selvi's dialogue to that loanshark. Well done. I still remember Ravikumar's character from Chitty and Ajay Ratnam's because they were her solid support. They made the viewers feel good every time they came on the scene. Manikam now is showing that he is a loving father and grandfather. I am sure that viewers like this transformation.

Just as you discussed in Cross Talk 1, you did get the 11 lakhs paid off by Vani. Great job of sending the money through Selvi and Rajesh. Naanum yosichen but did not think of them. Thank God you did not send through Arumugam ...ahna avan nalla pesi antha loanshark eh irritate panni iruppan. Hahahaha.

I could be wrong on this but for me the loss of the thali is just not about a manjal kairu. I think the whole storyline is more than that. It shows the state of Poongodi and Karthik. Both of them have had some happiness, and that happiness was taken away. I dont know, my imagination is working overtime. Hahaha.

Bgm as usual awesome.

My revew

What a lovely mother-in-law Sura is. ❤️ It is so refreshing to see a MIL who is kind, loving and caring in a serial. Please tell Sangeetha Balan that all of us really appreciate her role. I have seen her in other serials but I like this role the best. (P/S And Selvi does not deserve her, stupid female 😡)

Arumugam was irritating but funny. I think he really believed in what he said and he was not malicious or said it with bad intention. I laughed at the expressions on his face when Rajesh suggested that they go out to eat. I was saying "poda po, unakku nalla briyani kidaikka poguthu". 😆And sure enough, he got a nice thumping. Even then his dialogues made me laugh. Murali Krish was really superb. I disliked his character from the beginning and I still do but somehow you cant help but laugh at him. It is a smart idea not to make him a complete wastrel...it is different too..I laughed at his dialogues to Rajesh...getting whacked out of shape and he still comes out with his smart comments. Application form, how handsome he is ...🤣

It was lovely to see the round table gathering in Vani's house, although not as happy as before. Do you think it is wise to make Rani blindly loyal to her sister? Whatever you do, please don't follow the usual Tamil movie/serials where siblings who are close to each other and then have a big quarrel and become enemies. The part where she says "Akka pathukuvale" was touching. The background music was just awesome. Love it. But I am just worried that Rani is too dependent on Vani.

Poor Poongodi!! It was good to see Maha Lakshmi laughing and being cheeky and then she fainted!! Why?? I hope the perusus do not think that she is preggers. (I know you wont go down the normal storylines).

Could someone please teach the arrogant loanshark a lesson? Obviously he thinks he is so superior. I liked when Swamy stared at him but I wish he showed his nastiness to the loanshark - he shows his arrogance to Vani but too scared to show to anyone else. 😡

All these bad guys must be taught a lesson: Loanshark (peyar therille but boss of RS Finance..RS na yaaru?), Kathir. Karuppu. Angayarkanni. Jyothi. I bet there will be a lot of people clapping.

Thank you for all your efforts and hard work. Waiting for tonight's episode.

My review

Kandupidichen, kandupidichen, Vani Rani yil oru chinna thappu kandupidichen. Vetri has the same prison number on his prison uniform as Kali - 505. Hehehe. Sorry. I checked twice - saw the credits again, just to confirm my suspicions. (Unless of course they are in two different prisons. )

New twists ah - so viewerskku tension pannunumnu mudivu panithinga!! This episode has two new twists - not 2 new, somehow I knew Swamy would find out that Vani gave the money - so now head sutturaning. I just don't understand why these guys dont admit that they are in a prison for a reason - that they did something wrong and they are being punished. Leave Kathir alone - he is a dada - but this Vetri. I thought he was a decent young man and was helping Devi because of friendship. Turns out that he is also rotten. He is blaming Vani for "destroying his life". No, Sherlock, it is you - you destroyed your own life. And what a clever idea to tie up the plot of blank papers Bhoomi signed to the plot involving Kathir. But you know right? Whatever things the bad guys try to do, our Lioness must win! Don't ever show us a defeated Vani, head bowed down and looking lost. Our Vani must always stand tall, head up, staring at the world in the eye and be as magnificent as always. 😃

For the first time I actually liked Jyothi - all of five minutes when she genuinely wanted to talk to Poongodi...and then when she scolds Poo for losing the thali, I thought, typical Indian parents, always blaming the kids. 😃 Thank God that Poongodi fainted because of her fast and not because of anything else. But Mano is right - Poongodi has a plan. God knows what, but I hope it does not come across as selfish.

Nice to see the interaction between Bhoomi and Vani. Vani said the same thing that we were concerned about - the trust and faith Rani has in Vani is scary. I was glad that Bhoomi observed that he could go to two extremes, (By the way, any plans of bring back Vasu Vikram?).

The expressions that Rani had when she saw Swamy cycling to the house were just touching and heartwarming. Poor girl. Such a look of expectation on her face. But somehow I knew that Swamy did not come to take her back. Why is this man so stupid and arrogant? Didnt he remember what the loanshark threatened him with? OK. he does not care about any injury done to him or Rani but what about Thenu? 😡 That Raj threatened him TWICE that they might do something to Thenu. Is his pride that important? And what did he mean in the last segment of the scene? I don't understand him. I remember many episodes back he went to temple and told Pillaiyar that he has a lot of respect and love for his anni but he has to behave this way so that she wont get involved in their problems anymore...and then he behaved in such a horrible manner that I forgot that scene altogether...and then today I remembered it again. I think we need to have a conclusion on Swamy's one-sided war with Vani.

My review

Kali is back!! Good to see Bhaboos Baburaj. Vani Rani than is the first serial to actually show that prison food is lousy. Kali has lost weight!!! Moustache vera, Good addition. Now Kathir's turn. LOL. But I dont care about Karuppu. Antha kuppe thalaiyan iruntha enna illathi enna. No need to hear his robotic delivery and wooden acting.

The Graduate School of Wooden Acting is proud to announce that three of their alumni have found roles in the famous serial Vani Rani.

Murali Krish - enna comedy pa!!😆 His facial expressions, his dialogues, the way he walks - I was laughing my head off. Very good job Genius touches of showing 6Face doing surya namaskaram etc. Ennamo Surya from 7am Arivu or Jeeva from Raam nu nenuppu. Sitting under running water which was actually from a tap, Hahahaha. Great stuff. Arumugam is annoyingly funny...and Lady Sura's reactions were classic. LOL.

The meeting with Kali in jail - what a great scene that was. Thank you for bringing back Kali to our screen. Nice soft emotional acting - I could see that Kali was really eager to find out news about his three women - Malathy, Selvi and his granddaughter. What a strange meeting that must have been. Antha kirukkan was just talking nonsense and poor Kali had to listen. It kept us in suspense,,,intha manga madaiyannukku nalla vilapothu.

Surprisingly, Bhoomi's problems have not ended with the close of the court case. This is not only an unexpected storyline but it is something different and real...good to see that Bhoomi is facing the consequences of the court action. The old Bhoomi would not have taken crap from anyone. Hmm...nallathu kalame ille pola?? But it is God's payback time. :let us see what happens next, quite curious.

I never thought I'd say this but I am missing a villain. Hahaha. All the villains have changed. Kali Bhoomi...Karuppu? Kathir?

Highlight today: Aspiring to be Ambani but need to reach at least Bill Gates' level Arumugam.

Fairly okay episode last night. Good to see Swamy and Rani not falling for the tricks of the two fake census takers. At first I thought Black/Kathir was responsible for such a plan but only a mokkai could come out with a mokkai plan. Ayo Karthik, Karhik, you are trying so hard, man. Nice shirt for Rajkumar..he looked good. But why is he (Karthik, not Raj) being so silly? Poor Poongodi looking confused and unsure. We want the old Poongodi back!! And Poongodi's Theme was played - yay!! Karthik was so rude to his mum - what was the need? I am getting irritated now. Sir, I have a suggestion. Why don't you make Poongodi a puthumai penn, a puratchi penn? Let her tell Karthik and Saravanan :"Pongada, mara mandaingala, neengalum ungal kathallum...oruthan mahaan, onuruthan Devadas...,I don't need both of you and walk off?" Hahaha, I know it wont happen - just a thought. Oh oh, so happy my favourite bgm, Poongodi's Theme was played,

6Face. I laughed again, especially when I saw him pray so hard as they were doing the prayers in the house. He was really funny - new lungi is it? I thought he was going to say something mischievous but thank God he didnt.

Poor Rajesh and Selvi - another pirachanai ya? Guhan, you look good in red da. You acted as the sad husband very well. I smiled when your face lit up as you told the doctor how well you have been looking after your wife. Awww... Good show, Guhan. Selvi is really lucky to have a hubby like you. See Shree, I told you ages ago and you laughed at me.😛

Bhoominathan's problems still going on ah? Pavam...help him soon.

No Vani yesterday and only 3 mins of Rani.

1. Please end the Poongodi-Saravanan- Karthik track. Many people feel that if Poongodi accepts Karthik then her character is destroyed and ruined. From being someone who is so adamant and in love with Saravanan, she is now giving in to Karthik. For me, Poongodi showed that she was weak when she married Karthik - for whatever reason whether her father or Saravanan asked her. She showed that once again, a woman is dictated by a man's wishes, whether her father or someone she loved. She could have stood firm and told the whole world to take a hike (get lost) but she didnt. She made a choice, a bad choice and now she has to live with it. So many regrets. But you know what? She has to wipe her tears and carry on with her life. Like millions of people, throughout the world are doing, regardless of sex, race, religion and culture are doing. This has nothing to do with our Tamil culture and traditions. For me the underlying factor is making choices and being responsible and accountable for your actions.

2. Shiva-Rajesh-Selvi - an end to that track also, please. I am not too keen onn marriages being broken up so please no more. Let other serials have this kind of kandravi stories. You could have made Pooja the psychotic one, using all kinds of devious and criminal ways to get Gautham. Hahahaha, But I like Pooja though because I feel basically she is a good person.

3. How about a good story for Lady Shark?

4. More of Arumugam please. Even Malathy.

My review.

First off, where is the Lioness's fearsome chariot, the impressive and imposing Pajero? Note panniten. 😉

I am impressed with the thought and attention that go into the acting and direction of the characters. Both Vicky Krish and Arun Kumar Rajan live their roles, just as Maha Lakshmi, Rajkumar Manoharan and Guhan Shanmugam. Vicky as the bold, dynamic and soft-hearted Gautham acted to form. I have seen Arun in other serials where he acts tough and macho, so in this serial, his mannerisms, way of talking, expressions and even the tone of his voice (my mum likes this apparently) are so different. Even the way he ran in was in form with his character. 👏

I did think it was rather silly for the four of them not to inform Vani. If Rani knew her sister well, she would also know that Vani does not like it when things are hidden from her. Sometimes we have to be cruel to be kind and hiding a serious issue such as this was not a smart thing to do. And I was wondering why the doctor was hiding behind the door and telling them the news instead of walking out and talking to them privately...was he worried that Rani ma would strangle him? 😆

Oh Mano, why are you doing this? You are going to widen the gap between you and your daughter. She is not going to be happy with you when she finds out what you plan to do...and it is going to fail, because we all know she is going to Kolkata. On a separate note, it used to irritate me that all the adults used to call Poongodi "chinna ponnu" but now I think they may be right. And Thatta and Balu saying what exactly were in our minds about Karthik being unemployed. (Already I polamburan about the youngsters in Vani Rani not having a job... )

I laughed when all three - Gautham, Rani and Swamy hid from Vani. I would have thought at least Swamy would have overridden Rani's silly decision not to inform her akka. But I knew Vani was in the hospital for something else because of the way she was walking and behaving. I did wonder when she was talking to her client about heart attacks whether she would be as practical and as cool if it had happened to her loved one (and Episode 409 proved that she wasnt). (A little piece of advice - everyone should prepare your wills. It doesnt mean only old and sick people should).

Rani: "Court asvithiri ke maatitangala? " Hahahahaha. Rani, Rani. Classic. 😆

The meeting between Surya and his mother outside the hospital was classic comedy - and the dialogues were as if they were from the Goundamani-Senthil banana classic scene. Surya enna nejamalae practising lawyer ah? Andavaa And Vani is smart, her legal brain started working overtime. Somehow I knew she would catch Surya out. And sure enough antha behku (not you, Arun) did not how to handle his mother. " Unmaiya therinja ellaraiyum hospital bench mela ethiruvangale. Andava ennai mattum kappatu pa". Hhahahaha. But it was obvious that even Point knew Gautham and Surya were lying - even he was staring hard at them as he passed them by.

The last part was brilliant. Radhikaa madam once again outdid herself. The puzzled and suspicious look on Vani and the guilty look on Rani was in total contrast with each other. The look of shock on her face when she finds out the truth was so appropriate.

But I am reserving my last words for Swamy. The Swamy who hugged Gautham and Surya - this is the Swamy we missed. The loving father figure - protective (remember how he was the one who went to the police station to save Gautham in Episode 1?), caring, more of a father to the boys than their own father was. Is it too much of a coincidence that he was the one who found Bhoomi? That he loves his brother was evident when tears shimmered in his eyes as he found out that Bhoomi had a heart attack. Prithivee Raj was superb once again. The expressions, the emotions he showed without uttering a word, were spot on. I feel that the trilogy of the episodes, starting from yesterday and continuing tomorrow, is highlighting in a subtle manner the increasing significance of Swami's character and the effect he has/will have in Vani's family. I like this character development.

Enjoyed this episode. Waiting for what Mano will do next. If this was good, 409 was great. Must buy tissue boxes and keep!!

I must apologise for not doing reviews as often as I used to. 409 is excellent. I have to write something on that; I will. But let us talk about last night's episode.

Episode 420

The hazy aura surrounding the "meeting" of the three protagonists in this love triangle already gave us an idea that it was a dream. (By the way, is that a Taj Mahal replica in the background? 😆) Sure enough, it was Poongodi's. She looked scared and confused. Her face showed a conflict of emotions Poor girl. She needs a closure. So do we. But I did think it was nice of Karthik to try and reassure her.(His wistful tone and face as he said "Chance-eh illeh" was touching 😲). His dialogues were very meaningful and I couldnt help but laugh when he tells her not to bother about society and let them gossip because this is what Poo and Sara fans have been saying. But Poongodi's suffering in silence was heartbreaking. I hated Mano at this point for putting my poor chellam through hell. In fact the people responsible for the poor girl's suffering are all men. Mano, Sara and Karthik. 😡

But I dont think Poongodi was crying because she was missing Saravanan. I think the reason goes deeper than that. And then we heard Poongodi's Theme. 👏 Yahoo! I just love that song. Hari sir really deserved that award...and the last part where Poongodi touches her thali. Poor poor girl. You know by her facial expressions that she is in a torment - she doesnt know what to do or what to think. Both Karthik and Saravanan should be shot for putting her through mental hell (although she too made a mistake).😕

The scene on the bridge was nice. The dialogues stood out. Karthik was brutally honest - at last he realised that he was a nasty spoilt brat. The wistful look that Rajkumar gave at that point was just spot on - but what a situation for both of them to be in. Nice to see Poongodi smiling and laughing after a long time. "Friendship Confirmation Treat". 😆Hahaha. But again more pathos as Karthik goes on a wild goose chase, getting chased away and abused. The other fabulous song came on "Oooh ithu yenno, vazhve oru mayam thanno", this time with a female voice and then ending in a duet. I want to listen to the song again and listen to the lyrics properly. The song matched Poongodi's confusion and sadness.

Maha Lakshmi and Rajkumar rocked. Such mature acting, deep and intense. Their emotions came across well and the audience could feel their unhappiness. Well done to both of you guys.

The segment involving Swamy, Surya and Gautham was also interesting. It showed the difference in their approaches. Whilst people were willing to listen to Swamy, they were not willing to listen to Gautham and Surya. Experience v youth. This segment fortifies my belief that Swamy would play a more prominent and significant role in Bhoomi's business. Can you please dress up Swamy so that he looks like a smart businessman?? Sure he will look handsome. Hahahaha.😳

But the segment that got me clapping was the one involving Manikam and Balu. I clapped when Manikam said he was going to transfer to Balu's name. What a clever touch. Remember how Balu was coveting the house? That he was willing to defraud his father-in-law's property. I honestly thought it was very clever of the team to introduce this refreshing touch. Now he finds out he neednt have to go to such measures because his FIL is willing to give the house to him. But if I remember correctly, when Vani bought over the house, she transferred it to Balu's name.

Missing Vani and Rani though!
