My review

Wow, 550th episode.. Hahaha. Another 50 and it is 600!!! How things have changed from the first episode when it hit our screens. How I have changed from the time the first episode hit our screens. From refusing to watch any of Radhikka's serials, I have now become a diehard fan. Not just of her acting, but the whole serial in its entirety. The skills and talents of every single one of the cast - the significant ones, the not so significant ones. The dialogues. The little touches, the layers of meaning, the subtle messages. It is an intelligent serial. For me, it is beyond comparison and I mean it. Even when it is at its boring best, it is still superior to the others that are allegedly above it in the TRP.

One of its assets is Maha Lakshmi. I said before that Poongodi is intelligent (except for Saravanan - proving the theory that intelligent women can make foolish choices where affairs of the heart are concerned. Hahaha). She was not fooled by Karthik's nearly hysterical dramatics. I did wonder whether the elders believed him as he was hammimg up. They did but Poongodi didnt. I liked Maha's understated mature acting in this scene - she managed to inject the right levels of worry and determination. She looks as if she is prepared for the worst but I do wonder. When she said that the doctor might say she will die on the 11th day, I did think that maybe when she finds out the truth, she would think that death is preferable. I hope not. I want to see her deal with her condition in a mature manner - and acknowledge that things like this do happen but it is not the end of the world, I like the fact that VR shows MILs in good light. Sura, Megala and even Vani. Vani - it is expected I think for she is intelligent and educated and has an open mind. But it was not expected of Sura and Megala - the serials are to be blamed for stereotyping - but both Sura and Megala are breaths of fresh air.

Talking about Sura, I did think that her entrance was a bit too early. They should have let Selvi give Malathy left, right and centre. I was enjoying St. Selvi's dialogues for once. But like many viewers pointed out, it is hypocritical of her to be so understanding towards Kali and Malathy but she wasnt understanding at all when it came to her own case. 6Face, why do you have to be obnoxious? I thought the opportunistic part of your character had disappeared, Murali Krish is another gem of a find. He delivers his dialogues suitable to the character - rattling off so fast that you need to listen very carefully. Had a few gem quotes too and had me laughing. Malathy is unpleasant and unlikeable although I do think she has a point when she talked about Sura's treatment of her. But there is no reason for her to act the way she did, and I think it is arrogant of her to think she has a monopoly on Kali. Kaliii...I like!! smile emoticon What a transformation. Lovely.

Punnaku Gumbal deserves this and much more. Ram's dialogues are funny and witty. Really laughed at Rajendran's and Sri Lekha's expressions when he tells them he wants partnership in the business. I clapped when Ram walked in - that is how much I detest this couple and what they are doing. Foolish Punnaku Gumbal and Princess Punnakku/ When will they realise that Anaconda is not doing this for her or them but for herself? She is like one of those Greek goddess Eris or Roman goddess Discordia - causing strife, hatred, discord everywhere she goes and thriving on it. I thought she had some redeeming factors but I dont think so now.

OK, will wait for tomorrow before commenting on Rani.

After some time, I must say that I was very disappointed with today's episode 😕. I dont know what to say about the Poongodi Karthi track. I expected Poongodi to find out the truth today/ It is dragging now. I wanted Poongodi to find out and I really do not know what Karthik hopes or expects by lying and barefaced at that. At least he should have told his mother. Stupid. Underestimating women as usual. Also a story can be dragged for only so long. As it is people are already saying that this story is predictable. I was not impressed with Karthik. Please bring an end to this story. It is getting tiring now. 😔
