Kamya Punjabi loves what she does — acting — and nothing can keep her away from the arc lights.
And her latest show—after Maryaada—Lekin Kab Tak? and a cameo appearance in Parvarrish — Kuchh Khatti Kuchh Meethi — is Colors'Uttaran.
She will play Mrunal Jain's mother in the show, who is out there to avenge his family's downfall from the Thakurs. Apparently, the reason behind the vengeance has been aired already. Kamya's entry will only spruce up the drama.
Incidentally, seasoned actress Ashwini Kalsekar was approached to play the part before Kamya was finalised but things failed to materialize.
Informs a source, "Kamya was approached after things couldn't materialize with Ashwini. Kamya is a fantastic actress and will take the show to new heights. Her entry will only add fuel to the fire and make matters worse for the Thakurs and the Bundelas. She will commence the shoot soon. We are positive that her entry will help the show rake in great numbers as it's an interesting character and extremely pivotal to the track of the show."
