Veer pronounced it as mitthi and not mitti ...and later others pronounced it as meethi !
and my guess is Veer thought of the name mitthi because at that time iccha was eating raw mangoes and khatti-mitthi would have occurred to Veer.

To tapasya i called taps, raghuvender as rags, ichhha as ich... so on!!!

BTW=Like Nandish. I'm a punju too (in fact I'm a Sandhu too!!) And we tend to use the Punju version of the word which DOES sound like MITTI-its a regional accent thingy!
