what was kasa kaka's motivation?

I didnt understand kasa kaka's motivation in this scheme (unless it was to benefit him in some way).
why did he help gunwanti?
did he have something against ichcha/veer?
because if he needed money, daddaji would easily have given him money as a loan/gift. so why do this for money?
