MY JOY HOME Nestled in the lap of nature TV actress Tina Duttas cozy home is surrounded with pretty hills,is peaceful, green and has zero pollution, writes Debarati S Sen Television actress Tina Duttas pretty home is ensconced between the beautiful green hills at Goregaon and it is very difficult to miss the sense of serene tranquility that envelops you once you are in the house. The petite and childlike Tina is aware of the kind of impact her home has on others and explains,It is a place which makes me feel as if I am sitting comfortably in the lap of mother Nature herself. The 1,100 square feet, fifth floor flat, has two bedrooms, one spacious hall and a kitchen. We do a quick QnA with the actress about her home. Your home is located in I live in Royal Palms at Goregaon. My house is on the fifth floor. What made you choose this apartment I bought it because of its location. It is an extremely peaceful area, with no pollution at all.It is surrounded by lush green hills and the view from my flat is breathtaking. In addition,I find it convenient to travel from here to wherever I have to shoot. For me this house is very close to the home I aspire to have someday, just because of the fact that it is surrounded by greenery on all sides and is very peaceful. Is this your dream home Rate it on a scale of ten It is not exactly my dream home. That would be a more spacious, tastefully decorated bungalow with a huge garden. But my current house is close to my dream bungalow, since the view from here too is beautiful. On a scale of ten,I would rate it at an eight.I have taken away two points because without your own vehicle,it is a long walk into the building making the location a bit inconvenient. Your favourite memory of your house Every wall in my house has a tale to tell, and every room has an emotion to display ... am I getting poetic! Your favourite area at home That would surely be my bedroom. The view from there is fantastic.I can see the hills at a short distance, and when I look down from my window, there is this large pool a circle of water within the compound. At night, the moonlight filters into my room, making it feel divine.I have yet to decorate it completely, but I have a round bed and there is balcony attached to the room where I have put up a marble slab with a backrest so that one can sit there comfortably and take in the view. Your favourite possession It is this round bed which I mentioned. It is a beautifully designed bed made of cane.I prefer not to use wood as far as possible. Party corner It is my living room.As you enter it,there is a sofa on the side, behind which there are two wooden swings. On the other side, there is a bar counter flanked by my music system.I am now planning to add another swing there and constructing a balcony attached to this room too. Calming space in your house That would once again be my bedroom. It has a light, baby pink colour and the round bed with lots of teddy bears. There is a side table and bed lamps and lots of books as I am fond of reading before sleeping. There is a wardrobe on the left side. When I sit on the bed,I can see the moonlight at my eye level. And during sunrise, the light filters straight into the room making it look ethereal, both during the day and night. MY MOST USEFUL INTERIOR TIP: One should ensure that the space one lives in should look and feel open and clean. The furniture should be minimal and the colours used should be light shades. This makes even a small space look open, while dark shades make the place look small The large balcony opens up to a splendid view Tina Dutta |
