Couples with color coordinated dressing

Whats with couples and color coordinated dressing I find it tacky...couples can dress up to complement what the other ways to not look mismatched...but the colors do not have to be the same...I see that with nandish and rashmi...do other television stars do this too...is this the latest trend with couples in Mumbai in particular
