Will they be recreating this too?

Redux version ke liye..

The initial Tejo was class, boss. You really cannot replace that 😆👍🏼

Those days were really gold. All the three leads are excellent whether it is the actors or the characters. It was very light hearted and realistic to some extent. I was badly waiting for the show to get good ratings as it got only around 0.7-0.9 at that time. IMMJ2 fans were also angry with this show. When the ratings flourished, I was really happy. But when they made Fateh go behind Jasmin, it ended for me. I just watched the exposure trackbof JasFa to Tejo which was heartbreaking and then I lost the hope of watching it though it got 3.1 at that time.

Thanks for filling me in. I did anticipate it was gonna go southward the moment that Jasmin just legit told Tejo she did all this to gain Fateh and I was like - WTAF girl, are you in your senses? Tejo just literally came before the wedding and begged you to marry Fateh coz everyone was otherwise forcing her to do and you shooed her away. This is a girl who loved you so much that she even signed up for a competition which she herself found lame coz of how hypocritical and judgemental it is, or wanted you to have a life-partner that loves you selflessly and even ensured he understands all your expectations. How the heck is she to blame in this? Fateh should have told you directly first instead of telling the entire world about it first and imagining someone tells you.

Stopped watching immediately. I also have a sister, so I hold that relationship in the utmost high regard, and could not deal with Jasmin's arrogance with Tejo. Knew she was gonna be trouble that "I hate you, Tejo for ruining my life." moment onwards. Safe to say I have no regrets whatsoever after everything you told me.

Yes, and even I said that the Fateh stalking Jasmin thing put me off just as much as it did for Tejo. The hit-and-miss scenes where she was looking for him were the realest, she did constantly give him hints about how inappropriate his love letters, gifts, and pretty much everything regarding his love for Jasso was, even without knowing he is the so-called 'secret lover'. She even threatened Amrik. And then finally spotted him at the gurudwara where she tells him off and also points out Jasso's actual ambitions, laying it out clear for him. This scene was an impressive one to me, coz she was very frank on how he should not continue to do all this BS without really getting abusive about it. Even almost told his dad about it, but then Fateh promised her he'd stop with the antics, and he kinda did.

During the helping Jazz with marriage thing, he actually waited on Tejo's approval to them and did not go to their house with ulterior motives per say. And then with Tejo deciding to make JasFa official; it was clear to see this aint gonna work out. Jasmin was not even able to handle when he left his house for his own ideals + the bhavishya vaani that said she will never go to Canada + the hospital symbolism where he catches Tejo's hand when in unbearable pain, thinking it is Jasso's OR keeping Tejo's paper plane and admonishing Jasmin's for their distinct ideologies. Apart from the stalking, he was bearable in that while he did have a distorted perception of Jasso and lived in his dreams, he implicitly did realise Tejo was right and was also grounded to reality due to his upbringing. His focus was on boxing to represent the nation, and the anger towards his father throwing Simran out was not wholly unjustified, though he did show under the surface, he can be very extreme if pushed, like even you pointed out in your analysis. There was a genuine friendship that was established between FxT where they could see the others POV if not completely agree with it, and it did help when they together nabbed Jazz too. Truly enjoyed watching that progression, coz Fateh seemed to have somewhat come out of his chhichora ways. Would have been awesome if he supported Tejo and her dreams made her realise that she can learn from Canada to implement better policies in India, while she helped him become an all-round boxer.

As for Jasso being a brat, yes, she was, agreed, and the entire Sandhu fam was responsible for it too. They are also responsible for being ignorant about Tejo and using her as they deem necessary, without any consideration for her own feelings and dreams. I called Jasmin a 'cute jhalli' coz she was naive, and merely followed what her family had fed to her all her life, she had no personality beyond that, but she was not even trying to go to Canada out of malice or to run away from some crime/fraud she had done in India. She had a dreamy version fed to her, that Canada = free luxury with husband, and she blindly just believed it without using it to make herself capable to go there on her own; i.e.Tejo had received an offer to complete her phD there, that hardwork way. She was lazy and over-dependant, but she still loved Tejo a lot in her heart. At that moment, I could still say she and the entire Sandhu khandaan had scope as characters coz they should have ideally somewhat learned their lessons when Jazz was arrested, and reassessed their obsession, but they had zero development. They never made Jasmin REALLY realise post that, that she should not be having any relationships with conditions attached. All of them were onboard with Fateh + Canada tag, and were still very dumb about it. Jasmin was clearly only with Fateh coz he was idolising her and making her feel like he will get the world at her feet, without having any surety to do so. The moment he was not able to secure that job, she was done with him. Virks were also being weird when they knew it was kinda Fateh's fault too. Honestly, even the Sandhus barring Papa were so indifferent in the FxT wedding that I wanted to put them into a pit of snakes. Meet your animal selves. I feel like the best next thing for any character growth for Jasmin would have been for her to get married to that NRI and realise that living in Canada is not a boon, but a bane to people like her. She would have had to do her own stuff w.o help and see the harsh realities of life in a foreign country. That should have been the chance to show her growth 100+ episodes ago, without needing to show her hate Tejo, coz she NEVER loved Fateh. But they made her obsessed with getting Fateh back to make herself feel important again, and then is probably when the other things began to resurface and took the turn for the absolute worse with pendulum characters.

I have zero interest left in this show anymore, though I truly appreciate your efforts to engage me in the insightful discussion. Have a nice day!

Well I'll address the last line with this, I've written literal essays on UD characters and how interesting they're, esp till airport episodes, bcz that's the OG story, after that they continued only for money. But now I do not even have enough interest to watch them in their last week. That's how disinterested I'm in this show.

But for most part characters, esp Fateh was written really good. Like he's both shades, tbh I didn't like him much, stalker thing, him beating Jass up, roaming like goons with hockey...eww. But there were shades, Like he's a stalker, he's that fragile male ego, he doesn't understand how relationship work and has a very old school charming but also sexist stalkerish ideas about dating and love and relationship. However he's also someone who stood up for right, defended Tejo supported her without any motive. so he had both shades.

when it comes to his character, and EMA show was extremely realistic. They went wrong with Tejo by keeping her OTT mahan and just throwing her logical brain outta window.

As for Jasmine, tbf I've never been a fan of OTT jhalli bubbly girls...Geet etc. Here I just rolled my eyes at how useless she was... with definitely selfish tendencies. Oh that would have been such a good realistic story where she'd have realised that she'll have to work hard in Canada. Considering F's educational qualifications he wont be able to afford help there, and she'd have to work. Oh JasFa were a missed opportunity, had they been together it'd have portrayed so realistically what happens when you've delulu dreams and not use your brain. Even lovesick aashiq F would have quickly realised what a gale ki haddi shallow transactional relationships like his are.

Naaz apparently also aspires to go to Canada like Jasmine. I thought she will grow up to become selfish and greedy to fulfil her dreams like Jasmine did

They'll definitely be taking the "trying to make up for her mother's mistakes" with Naaz, main likh ke deti hoon. I feel like Naaz might achieve her dream of going to Canada the way I hoped that that Jasmine would, at least within like the first 50 eps of the show, which is by getting so fed up of everyone insisting that the only way she could achieve her dreams was by becoming someone's wife that she puts her foot down and tries to make it through work/studies. I had many hopes for this show...

Naaz being positive and mahaan like Tejo would only make sense if Tejo does her upbringing and Jasmine is nowhere near her.

And Nehmat, seems like she got her father's selfish genes.

I feel like it'll be a mix of Tejo's upbringing, taane from machi and co and just guilt honestly.
