Hello guys! I hope you all are well. I wasn't too positive about this fic because well, I don't know what to write for the sequel and IF I will write a sequel đ
Regardless, I hope you all like it! This has a cliffhanger đ
He stared into the space with the phone in his hands. The card he bought for her laid on the floor. He was too late.
The irony is that just this morning, Fateh had entered his home excitedly, a bouquet of flowers and a card in his hands. The man was about to confess to his wife and best friend Tejo, tell her how much she means to him. He wanted to tell her that she was the love of his life that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. While his heart was at peace knowing that he found the one that was meant for him, somewhere in the depths of his mind, a tiny fear lurked â would she believe him? After everything that happened? Did she love him back? He shook those thoughts away. Heâd beg her if he had to.
He dreamt of her last night. She was dressed in red - he always thought that she looked beautiful in red. Tejo smiled at him, her eyes sparkling in joy. His bride and the love of his life.
He reached out to her, to pull her into his arms but then the smile from her face fell. He woke up.
The next morning, everyone was quitter than usual. Her absence saddened everyone. Fateh stared into nothingness. One time she had made him his favorite dish, he promises that he can still taste it.
He remembers her laugh, it reminded him of bells. Her eyes were very expressive, she could never hide how she felt. Fateh chuckled bitterly. Fate had blessed him with a gift and he unknowingly lost it.
All he has now are her memories. Will fate reunite them again? He doesnât know. He has desperately looked for her and each time he has failed.
He sat on his bed and looked at his phone. Her photo was now his cell phoneâs wallpaper. âHappy Birthday beautifulâ he softly whispered, a sad smile drawing across his lips.
His father doesn't talk to him as much. Granted he isn't mean to him but something about the man had changed. He's distant. Fateh tried to strike up a conversation many times, and each time it ended due to his father's one worded answers.
The whole house had fallen asleep. The kind voice that always asked everyone about how they were doing was gone and Fateh blamed himself.
Maybe, if he had realized the truth sooner, reality would've been much different now. Fateh stared at the man in the mirror. He looked defeated. His mom says she misses her too. Despite it all, his heart says heâll find her again. He promises himself that heâd find her and love her until his last breath.
I thought an open ending (for the first part at least) is better. Let me know if I should write a sequel đ
Also, if there's anyone I forgot to tag, I apologize đ
