Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Maira accepts Abhira’s friendship, secretly connects with Geetanjali using phone

In Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Maira finally agrees to give Abhira a fair chance, following Armaan and Geetanjali's insistence. While viewers are excited to enjoy the bond between Maira and Abhira, we had already exclusively revealed the bigger twist—Geetanjali’s hidden agenda.
For those who missed it, Geetanjali has challenged Abhira, giving her one month to prove that she can truly make Maira happy. If Abhira fails, she has agreed to step back and return Maira to them, after that, Maira will be theirs and not her Pookie anymore. However, Geetanjali’s real motive remains concealed, she is determined to reclaim Maira at the end of the month, unwilling to let Abhira take her place as a mother. Amidst this emotional tug-of-war, Abhira and Maira begin to bond after the phone theft incident, but the real question is, will Maira truly open her heart to Abhira?

In the upcoming episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, after Maira bravely helps Abhira in stopping a thief like a true friend, Abhira asks if they can officially be friends. She extends her hand for a handshake. Maira takes a little time, and in a soft voice, says “friends” as she shakes Abhira’s hand.

Abhira then smiles and says she hopes they become best friends soon. Just then, Anshuman joins in and tells Maira that he’s also there, so she should be friends with him too. Maira sweetly replies that he’s already her friend uncle, remembering how he has always supported and protected her. The two then share a cheerful high-five.

After this, Anshuman and Maira leave for home, while Abhira stays back at the café for some work. There, she meets one of her colleagues.

Later in the storyline, it will be revealed that before leaving, Geetanjali had secretly hidden a phone inside Maira’s teddy bear. This was her way to stay connected with Maira. Once Maira is back home, she starts receiving messages and audio notes from Geetanjali. In those messages, Geetanjali subtly tries to influence and emotionally manipulate Maira.

Maira keeps this phone and her conversations with Geetanjali a secret from Abhira and the rest of the family.

In an upcoming scene, Anshuman and Maira are seen preparing hot chocolate together. Maira is excited and happy about it. Although Abhira had told him not to give Maira too much sugar, Anshuman still prepares the hot chocolate especially for her, wanting to make her happy. However, while preparing, Anshuman accidentally spills something on himself and goes inside to clean up.

In that moment, Maira listens to a new audio message from Geetanjali. In the note, Geetanjali emotionally says that she visited their favorite hot chocolate spot but didn’t drink any, because she couldn’t enjoy it without Maira. Hearing this, Maira starts thinking. On one hand, she sees how much effort Anshuman has put into making the hot chocolate, but on the other, she feels sad that Geetanjali didn’t have it, so how can she drink it alone?

This emotional conflict leads Maira to refuse the hot chocolate, which leaves Anshuman puzzled and suspicious.

At one point, Anshuman is about to catch Maira with the hidden phone. But just before he can see it, Kaveri’s arrival prevents him from discovering the truth, at least for now.
