She cancelled the marriage infront of everyone no doubt, but look at the reasoning and analogy she used, the dowry analogy. So basically she thinks she is right in walking away from the wedding just because she couldn't get her dowry right away. That was kind of regressive in my opinion.

I see many on social media ADMIRING Jasmin's COURAGE for calling off publicly. I have diff POV here.

It was definitely a big blow to Jasmine but she could have handled it differently. She had her priorities clear and would have postponed / cancelled wedding anyways. But the way she did it by insulting all was pure selfish and foolhardy instead of being courageous. May be discussing with both families n Fateh separately behind closed door. Then apologizing to guests telling them some unforeseen situation and wedding is postponed, would have still saved the day. Calling off publicly, hurling insults to Fateh when he was not at fault, disrespecting his and her family is not admirable. Tejo would have handled it in matured way.

I am kinda glad though that she did that publicly. At least it is consistent to her characterization.

As you have stated, what she did was foolhardy and selfish but that is exactly how she has always been depicted. Jasmine is like that.

In fact had she not done the tamasha, I would have doubted her.

All I am saying is, doing that spectacle needs a spectacular brand of delusional courage that she has.

Though running after Fateh after that and trying to ruin Fatejo marriage means the little respect I had will go down the drain.

IMO, slap was justified as she did it to bring him out of his stupor and stop the wedding which was w/o the wishes of the elders.

Also, is marriage the only way to go to Canada? 🤔 What century is she living in? 😕

Nowadays, no one wants a housewife for a wife. Living abroad is very costly.. and in many cases, both the couples have to work very hard to provide for themselves, buy a house, educate their kids.. living in abroad country, along with tolerating racism there.

In this age, many people give GRE / TOFEL to go abroad to study in US or give IELTS GT and get Permanent Residency ( PR ) abroad in Canada, NZ, Australia, London, etc and then use your PR to get a job abroad.

Basically, you need to slog your but off to clear the exam and get very high scores for study / PR.

I am in the minority here but I am with Jasmine. Fateh had promised to tell Jasmine FIRST if anything happened in regard to his job but came under pressure from his father. Even after, he didn't directly ask her anything. Jasmine was right about him taking the Canada thing a little lightly. She has been very truthful to Fateh right from Day 1 about Canada being more important to her than Fateh. It was Fateh who was daydreaming about Jasmine rejecting Canada once they got there.

I admire Jasmine for sacrificing her love for her dreams and not listening to her emotionally manipulative family like Tejo. Tejo's Ph.D dreams were ruined by this family, she was humiliated at the ball, Satti's boasting about their wealth at the ball attracted Jas and Jas broke Tejo's heart and confidence. Now, to save their own 'izzat', they are getting Tejo married to Fateh who is heart broken over Jasmine. 👏 I dislike that Tejo doesn't stand against her nasty family and ultimately comes down to having little to no self respect. Tejo's character seems regressive to me. Fateh sacrificed his dreams too but stood for his love, so Tejo's character is the weakest written one so far.

The thing that I disliked was Jasmine telling Fateh that he would stay a bachelor all his life after losing her. It was a very mean thing to say and judging by the precap, she will choose her love over her Canada dream. I wish one of these three had chosen their dream, especially Fateh since I loved his dream of winning Olympic gold for India.

The episodes last week were so good, I was disappointed that the TRP didn't increase. I believe had the show started with Tejo and Jas's arranged marriage first meeting, the show would have really taken off as all the Canada Ball did was set up Jas and this much set up for a villian slowed the pacing of the show.

Hope with FateJo wedding finally happening, the TRP's increase and looking forward to the upcoming episodes.
